Flanked by Roxas Boulevard and Manila Bay on one side, and the beautiful Malate Church on the other side, this a great place to grab a bite while seeing the city. Try Chicken barbecue with Java rice and their famous peanut sauce, the fare that comes to mind instantaneously when entering the restaurant. A little secret is that they make... More

It is one of the oldest names for Filipino cusine in Manila , established since 1932. This joint is the main & opens 24 hours a day. Ample parking & very packed especially during normal meal hours. The ice blended lemon tea is indeed a thirst quencher. Must try the boneless barbecue chicken or the barbeque pork ribs that goes... More

At one time the atmosphere reflected Manila in days of old. And the food was superb. Times have changed....the food is O.K....but with so many new and better restaurants right next door....it would not be wise to go he re.

I wanted a typical Filipino style restaurant as I just came back from Boracay and ate at mostly western style restaurants. Our friends took us to The Aristocrat. The setting is so-so, the service is sub-par but when the food finally came, I dug into the lumpias, pancit canton and the fried pata. The service was a bit slow but... More

The usual native fair was okay, like kare-kare and fried chicken. I didn't particularly like pancit canton (chow mein), it was tasteless.

Aristocrat is one of the older, more memorable restaurants in Manila, with some branches in Makati and elsewhere. It was founded by Lola Asiyang around 1950 and at that time was a favorite sunday lunch or dinner place, fronting Manila Bay and just a few steps from old Malate Church. In the old days in addition to the traditional menus,... More

The day I was there it was crowded and service was slow. The food was just average. Certainly for me it could not be considered a destination restaurant.

Arrived in Manila late on a Wednesday night and was looking for a quick bite of true Pinoy. My friend and I went here and were promptly seated. We ordered a little of everything: Calamares, Pancit, Kinilaw, and a couple of Sodas. The Calamares came pretty quickly (about 10 minutes) and the entrees arrived soon after. The service was quaint... More
