An oasis in Male

I had lunch with friends before we went to the airport to go to Koodoo. It was 20 of us and we sat together in a rather long table. We ordered food in a group of 4 people each, to make the ordering and billing process simpler. The food we ordered was good. Very authentic Thai food. Nice dessert... read more

Whenever I am in MaleI I just HAVE to go to Sala Thai. I am addicted to the mango sticky rice! The restaurant is really near the airport taxi boat terminal and is a lovely old building which has been tastefully updated into a lovely peaceful oasis away from the bustle of Male. The Pad Thai is the best I... More

Not worth the money. I found a hair in the soup and they did not compensate me for it.something free would have been appreciated.they charged me over 150 dollars and no discount. This was hyped as the premier restaurant but this is their quality.I would not recommend this place.

Its a shame that people can just slander without shame here on this page! There was no such incident in our restaurant, nobody has brought us such a thing to our attention! Have a feeling that there is competitors that have no other means than to write such reviews on TripAdvisor to discredit us, nothing unusual in the Maldives, Am... More

Ended up spending 50$ for a pad thai, one appetizer, and an orange juice. I asked if the pad thai could be prepared not spicy and I was told of course. The pad thai was spicy as hell. I gave it two starts cause the food and the place themselves are not bad, but way overpriced for what you get.... More

Dear Mr. Brown, Let me take the opportunity to respond to your comments, in general it would have been helpful for both side to ask for me (the day you were here we could have easily clarified the matter and maybe build a basis for future visits), got to know you are from our trade and do work on one... Had read a lot of great reviews about the food served out here so was keen to check it out during our visit to Male recently. Honestly speaking found the food to be average thai, nothing special! The prices are written and the currency isn’t! So be careful as its all in dollars and not in MVR and its without... More

Sala Thai is as authentic as you can get to Thai cuisine whilst in Male, there are several other restaurants but where quality and taste are concerned I would think they are still the best. They are however a bit expensive but if its quality and authenticity that you want then cost is not an option. Enjoyed my meal and... More

Sala Thai Restaurant is actually comprised of several rooms. The best by far is the very cozy "Venice Room" which is decorated with many large photographs from Venice. It has a high, wood covered ceiling and very nice lighting - a great spot for a romantic dinner. The service was also excellent with no less than four people helping out... More

My husband and I had a tour of Male, and wanted to eat at Sala as it was recommended by a staff member at Niyama Resort, so we gave it a try... It was the best and most authentic thai food we have had. We didn't know it was ranked #1 of 91 restaurants in Male at the time, but... More
