Authentic chettinad banana leaf rice experience

Tucked away from the main Little India action, this restaurant caters primarily to local Indian and predominantly Tamil clientele. Opposite the Hindu temple in Jalan Scott. Little English spoken by staff but they were still very helpful. Assisted us to choose additional meat curries from the buffet... read more

Superb traditional Indian food, great value for money. Plenty of choices, fast service and friendly staff. Eat in or take away, clean environment.

When we were looking round Brickfields we had lunch here as it was recommended in our guide book. We had little idea what was going to happen as food kept appearing, but we enjoyed every moment of it. We also ordered some mango lassi and this was the nicest we had in KL. At the end of the meal we... More

While visiting Kuala Lumpur I noticed that the foodie traveller Mark Wiens recommended this place, so I wanted to give it a try and I must admit that the food is exceptionally tasty and delicious, and the staff are extremely friendly - no wonders why Mark Wien loved this place so much. I loved this place so much that I... More

Amazing food at absolute steal. Had prawns, crabs, lentils, mutton, vegfetable and rotis for 3 adults is the @ 60 ringgit only. This is the real deal. If you cant handle spicy food, stay away. No mild, medium, hot option.

Visited the place again and found the food have seen some deterioration since they started business. Some of the items have seen better days and now it looks and tastes like any other run-of-the-mill Indian restaurants in Brickfields area. Their briyanis are nothing to shout about, it was pale and doesn't have the aroma of good briyani. Taste wise, their... More

Its a pretty good place to taste Indian Food. The place can be maintained a bit nicely, with so many customers the people who serve there can be a bit more polite and hospitable. The price is very nominal and if you are going there for dinner order only what is prepared freshly like dosa , idly etc. Never go... More

Whenever you go to an Indian restaurant these days, they use the usual plates and some would use a melamine banana leaf like plates. Unless, you are going to have lunch and/or dinner where they serve "banana leaf rice", then only you will get the real banana leaf. Some would just ride on the name "banana leaf rice" but using... I am a fan of South Indian food and Vishalatchi satisfied my craving while I was in KL. After over half day at the Islamic Arts Museum we were quite hungry and decided to grab a bite to eat. However, it took us forever to find the place as apparently Jalan Scott is almost unheard of by the locals that... More

This was one of my best experiences in KL. The staff brought out the banana leaf, rice and curries and helped me select everything. The neighborhood is fun - just down the street is an interesting temple.
