Lafite is supposed to be one of the best restaurant in town. I went with my wife for a romantic dinner and we've been very disappointed. First the seatings isn't private. The menu was looking fantastic but the portion is a joke. The different plate were good but not exceptional. The service was poor and arrogant.

Been here before but that was like donkey years ago and i just wanted to check this lovely Shangri-La with it's still beautiful lobby lounge area and the Lafite has been upgraded so i just went there and check out how their food is doing. Everything about Lafite spells 'excellence'. The food, the ambience and service! Maybe that explains whythis superb restaurant has been in business for decades! Even otherrestaurenteur would go to Lafife to celebrate

Very good fine dining by KL standards and wonderful service. Good value compared to western prices too. Meat dishes are done very well indeed. Not michelin by any means but you won't be disappointed.

Been here a few times and still never fails to surprise us. We were here for our wedding anniversary dinner. Took the 3 course set with a dessert and upgrade main dishes to crunchy amadai fish. First breakfast a bit of a failure. Asked for 4 minute boiled eggs and they didn't arrive. Waited for twenty minutes and they still didn't come so asked the staff to check. Eventually two eggs arrivedbut unfortunately not cooked for four minutes and raw. Gave up and had something else.

The service is above average and the speed in serving of the food is pathetically slow. Above average food quality.

Lets start with breakfast. One word "WOW". I have stayed at Four Seasons,Fairmont,Inter Continental,Le Meridien and this is one breakfast i would go to every day. The first thing i hate about buffet breakfasts that allthese hotels have the same breakfast every morning but at the Shangri-la it is different every day barring the normal food. We often visit the lounge around 3-5 pm as they serve a great afternoon tea, complete with sandwiches, scones and small cakes. There is a good selection of teas, and the staff are friendly and efficient.
