dinner at Zipangu was a treat. The food was cooked to perfection and the staff was really helpful and courteous. I like the ambience which is relaxing and spacious. The Garlic rice was good but I expected better, so it was 'okay'. The grilled mackerel was really good. All in all it was a pleasant dining experience.

My view is that this is a great place to eat Japanese food. The décor is very authentic and there is plenty of space. Good menu choices without being overwhelmed, and the food comes along very well presented. And its freshly made with fresh, quality produce - if you sit up at the sushi bar area you can watch a... Really lovely Japanese restaurant in Shangri-la Hotel. The food was very good. Only thing that could be improved is bringing the courses in the right order. We had to ask for one of the starters to be brought to the table as it was missing. Other than that - a great meal

Yes, I would agree with TA writer the food was lacking though the decor was very Japanese. Have been here with friends, family & business associates. A great place to talk & wile away the time.

Quite pricey, small quantity, and average quality Japanese food in a hotel restaurant setting. What was I thinking!!! ... Zipangu is for the desperate Japanese food craving in a late dinner or Malaysian monsoon situation. You get for what you plan for or lack thereof.

Came here for dinner with my parents and my wife while we were staying at the hotel and thought it would be a good idea to try it out. We were disappointed at the quality of the food but in hindsight, was not surprised at the price due to its location. Service - Good and friendly service from the moment... More

This Japanese restaurant had a very nice ambience and a pleasant staff which is consistent with the Shangri La offering. From the fresh Honey Dew I ordered to the Sushi platter the food tasted really good. The setting was very nice and the staff was very courteous and knew the menu well enough to give suggestions.

You enter the restaurant and instantly love the ambience and the decor of the place. One walks in through a huge wine/ sake cellar and soon you are in this elegant speciality restaurant. We opted for the set menu and was delighted by each course that was served. The sashimi was perfect, so was the main course - wagyu beef... More

Had a business dinner here and was most impressed ! It's of the quality one expects in a 5* Hotel like the Shangri-La. First of all, the atmosphere is very zen, a lovely lovely eating space. Secondly, the quality of service and attention to detail is exemplary. Thirdly, the range and quality of food is fabulous, no disappointments. It ain't... More
