Nice Ambience

The ambience in this place is very nice. Cosy, kampung environment in the middle of the city. There is a wide array of traditional kampung dishes as well as Western and Chinese choices as well. I would advise you to stick to the traditional kampung food as they do this very well. Prices are on the... read more

I had a lunch today with two Sudanese friends, one of them visited Tupai Tupai earlier with me and found that the restaurant was unique and insisted that we re-visit only this time, with her brother together. Stuff at food counters were friendly and warm as usual. Nonetheless, one of the stuffs whom came in while all food were laid... More

Visited Tupai-Tupai on 28Dec2014. We've reached the restaurant 3pm+ and it was quite empty which didn't bothered us(14pax) at all. Upon our arrival, we were informed that the buffet is only available in the early evening and only ala-carte is available, which is fine. Staff was helpful and answered all our queries on the menu since we're not from there.... More

As highlighted by food blogs, Tupai2's signature is the many choices of Nasi Campur dishes. We were there on a Saturday afternoon 12pm+ and Nasi Campur was not available. We hoped that the waiter could recommend some ala-carte specialty but he was a foreign worker who probably didn't understand what we said. I suggest, if possible, hire locals. We ordered... More

Enjoyed the varieties of the food. Went there several time for lunch (weekdays) as they only serve economic rice with various dishes during weekdays. Haven't been there for dinner or weekends. Price was reasonable considering it's in the heart of KL. Never exceeded Rm10 with a 3-dishes rice n free flow of drinking water.

We went there on a Saturday evening. We opted to choose from the menu rather than the popular steamboat buffet. Service was fast despite many patrons in the premise; drinks within 5 minutes. We ordered black-pepper crispy barramundi, chilli-fried squids, "telur bungkus" (large omelette), broccoli and mushroom; with rice & one bowl of shrimp noodle. The fish came late, perhaps... More

Been here twice and the last time was in Dec 2013, attending a client's daughter's wedding luncheon. Very authentic Malay atmosphere and dining. Not bad at all.

The restaurant has a myriad choices of delicious local Malay food. I like the food and have been lunching there many times. The price is reasonable for a place in KL. But the menu is always the same during lunch time. You might get fed up eating there every day. I've never been there during dinner time and can't comment... More

it has a wide variety of steamboat dishes as well as desserts at an affordable price (am sorry not quite sure the exact amount). but it's just a nice place to have dinner with friends/family and you can sit back and just talk/relax while waiting for the food to go "down" your belly... =P
