Worth a Visit

Cilantro is definitely worth a visit. While you could order anything on the menu and not go wrong. I went with a friend who is KL born and bred and she insisted I have the chocolate pudding with earl grey sorbet. I'm still grateful. BYO wine if possible. The wine list is pricey.

After reading some of the recent positive reviews, I decided to book the degustation dinner on New Year's Eve during our visit to Kuala Lumpur. The evening started off very well, and we were very pleased with the look and atmosphere of the restaurant. As we finished our third course of the meal, the evening began to change for the... More

We chose this restaurant to celebrate Xmas Eve. It was a set menu consisting of seven courses. Overall, we liked the menu composition, & the food was well presented. Perhaps the portions could have been slightly more generous! An illustration of this, was the first course of pan fried fresh fois gras. The tiny fig brioche looked lost on the... More

The food was really good, but the service was just so-so. Price is considered on the medium high side. It's located at a rather dodgy place. Environment was just normal and it was a rather small restaurant. Will go again, but not the first choice.

We chose the 4-course menu (2 starters) and we ordered a champagne (Ayala 2002) for the whole meal, The chef is inspired by French and Asian (Japanese mostly) cuisine and overall the dishes were quite good and fine. Be ready for very small portions though, especially for the main course - I picked the poussin (baby chicken), I got about... More

We returned to Cilantro for our greatest pleasure. The wine menu is still amazing. The quality of the food, the delicate presentation and the excellent service makes Cilantro one of the best restaurant in town. The only negative point would concern the air conditioning which is too high. It could be reduced.

about 16 of us had a delicious meal. The bread with truffle butter was great, followed by mushroom and artichoke soup. Sea bream with vegetables followed by Wagyu beef. So delicious! Desert a chestnut freuillantine with coffee and wine. The service was excellent.

Just tried out their degustation menu and was surprised that such an 'innovative' restaurant with a seasonal menu could be so outdated. Foie gras and truffles was the main feature of most of the dishes on offer. Very heavy affair with none of the dishes in the degustation courses offered any freshness. Even the granite which is suppose to whet... More

Cilantro has been around for a long time in KL and there is good reason for its staying power. The food is definitely one of the best in KL and although it may not be located in one of the newer, hipper buildings or hotels, I would recommend people to go seek out the place and try their food. Definitely... More
