This was our first trip to KL so we thought of asking the locals for suggestions on where to get good but reasonably-priced Malaysian dishes. They pointed us to Jalan Alor, a street known for its hawker food stalls, and specifically to Cu Cha Restaurant for the char kway teow, a flat rice noodle dish popular in SE Asia. My... More

I just discovered Jalan Alor and fell in love. I dig the hustle and bustle and the hole-in-wall feel of all the hawkers. It might not be for everyone but worth a try for some of the better Chinese Malay food I've tried. Cu Cha is close to the beginning of the strip if you start from the direction of... More

We went here on a recommendation and we should not have done this. It was pretty disappointing. It seemed to be one of the more expensive places in the food street, with which I do not have a problem but then I also expect something more for the money. This unfortunately did not happen. The spare ribs were good, also... More

A lot of tourists get sucked in to going here as the restaurant employees pressure you to come and dine here. Then you have to pay for every dish as soon as it comes out, which would be fine if all the food came out together, but it doesn't. Cu cha Restaurant is a collection of several small food businesses,... More

First, know that it is an outdoor, no frills type restaurant like so many here in KL. Located walking distance from the upscale Bukit Bintang area, the food was terrific. We have been traveling around Malaysia for 3 weeks now, and having just arrived in KL, we wandered nearby, down Jalan Alor, noticing that this restaurant had three adjacent storefronts,... More

We ate once at Cu Cha Restaurant on Jalan Alor after trying Dragon View the night before (see separate review). Unfortunately, the food here wasn’t nearly as good and the service was abysmal with diners being presented with the bill and being expected to pay at the same time their food and drinks arrived. Perhaps they’ve had problems with people... More
