I was there about 7 years ago. I remembered it was a melting pot of great food cooked by locals and stalls owned by individuals. When I went back in June 2014, I was utterly disappointed. Food quality was bad. Why? The food is now cooked by all the foreign helpers! It is very rare not to see locals cooking... More

Huge range of street and indoor dining choices available: Vietnamese, Chinese, Malay, Indian and Thai food. We ate delicious Vietnamese spring rolls, beef salad and flat noodle dish. Food is very inexpensive and great value.

Jalan Alor is not a restaurant but a Hawker market in the true sense of the word! Jalan Alor is a street only a few minutes’ walk from the busy shopping centre of Sungai Wang in Bukit Bintang where there are hundreds of tables on the street with cars still driving, albeit slowly only a metre from where you’re sitting!... It's yours for the pickings, it doesn't matter how fussy you are there is something there for you. All types of seafood, beef, pork vegetables you name it you will find it there. Plenty of seating even though it looks like the tables are all taken you will find one. We ate there every night, food was so cheap but... More

Oh goodness, this street is food heaven. There is nothing halal here as it is all chinese food, so take note if you are going with Muslim friends. We chose a famous restaurant right at the end of the street called Wong Ah Wah and did not regret it. We ordered the pork noodles [MUST try. best noodles I have... More

Food is cheap but very nice. Highly recommended the Restoran W.A.W, they are at the end of the street. Owns four shops there. Their BBQ is very nice.

Ate here on Sunday evening. Excellent Nonya prawns, fried tofu with vegetables, salt and pepper squid. Truly delicious. We shall eat there again on Thursday.

Located in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Alor is the 'centre' of 'food attraction' in Kuala Lumpur. There are so many foods, Malaysian, Chinese and seafood. I like .... 1. Cakwe / youtiao / Chinese cruller in the corner of Alor Street (near the dragon view restaurant) 2. Hellen Hokkien Mee's char kuey teow (stir-fried ricecake strips) in front of... More

I feel Jalan Alor has gone down the drain and it's becoming more and more touristy. The food is not authentic anymore compared to 10-15 years ago. Foreign workers ply the streets hoping to get customers offering 'seafood' and 'beer'. Not a Malaysian kind of experience if you ask me.

if you want to try Malaysian cuisine you must go to Jalan alor especially at night. The whole stretch of the street is occupied by so many tables and chairs ready for diners both locals and tourists. The best place to try and savor Asian cuisine.
