Feeding 5 tends to come with a high price tag but Old China Cafe not only ticked all the boxes on the food front, but also on price. The cafe is small and decorated in a vintage style. It's out of the way of the Chinese Market but easy to get to by foot. The food was really tasty and... More

Quick review... We've been to much better. Food and service OK, but nothing to rave about. Food was served quick which is good, but the content was very lacklustre. Certainly not a master chef restaurant. 3 stars is about right.

This place was quite hard to find, and when we did, I it certainly was not worth the effort. For a start, every single person in the restaurant at lunch time were tourists with guide books in their hands...that should tell you something right there. No a single local in the place.. A lot has been made of the decor,... More

We visited the cafe thanks to a tip off from our Lonely Planet guide and couldn't have been happier. Nestled on the edge of China town, stepping into the Old China Cafe was like stepping back in time into a Chinese themed saloon. With an interesting decor, great service, and an even better menu we really enjoyed the whole dinning... More

The food is great, mostly Nyonya classics, some with a creative twist. Unfortunately rather appalling attitude from the maître d. Understandably it was busy, as this cafe always is. But service is what sells repeats, perhaps the need was not as high as most customers are one-time tourists.

I love this place. It's getting a bit "discovered" now, but it still has a lovely vibe and authentic feel that takes you back a few years. The service is un-fussy and efficient. I really love the Nonya dishes on the menu. The Pork Pongteh is to die for. I really like the Top Hats in the starters section.. So... More

I liked the ambience, the interior of the restaurant is really authentic- very ethnic. The noodle I had was so-so and the service was not great since we came during packed lunch hour. Our food came about 30 minutes since we last ordered. Still ok to try though. It is located inside the Central Market in KL.

Had lunch at the Old China Cafe and fell in love with the ambience which reminds me of Shanghai. Such a lovely escape from the madness of the Chinatown markets. This cafe is a must if you have visitors in town as I can't think of another old style cafe that comes close. The menu is quite extensive so take... More
