Old China is in an atmospheric old building off of Petaling in Chinatown. The atmosphere is enhanced by traditional Chinese music. The atmosphere could be described as quaint or even seedy, in a cinema noir kind of way. Don't expect a Ming dynasty pavilion. (See photo). Menu is Chinese-Malay. Rather amusingly, as I was finishing dinner, a group of ten... More

Located at the quiet end of Petaling Street housed in a restored laundry filled with lovely paintings and some antiques. Plenty on menu including all the Malay classics. Food and service was excellent. Glad I went back. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

If you really loved Chinese history, you should visit here! I can say that it was a little bit creepy to be here. Looking for so many (maybe) a hundred years old stuffs and old picture with dynasty fashion. But, if you loved spices food, you have to try food here. A must menu is coconut rice. I don't it... More

A lovely little restaurant in China Town right next door to our hostel. I loved how the menu gave the history of the building and cafe, with many original features it felt like you had stepped back in time. The food was also lovely, suitable for vegetarians and the staff really polite. A little gem of China Town.

I went expecting Chinese and didn't get anything like it...the Malay was similarly adapted to western tastes. We ordered 4 dishes and all of them were ok but were nothing like the original versions and what we had expected. They are suitably bland for the western taste but in honesty it was a beige food experience. It was not bad... More

Went there for a afternoon tea and didn't regret it all. Such a great atmosphere. Since we had lunch we just ordered an entree to share (I forgot the name) It was great and we totally enjoyed our time there. I usually dine an leave but this time I think I sat just for tea for a good hour. and... More

I call in to book a table for my client and they has committed the price. When we send them the email to reconfirm they offer the difference price. When we ague about the quoted rate, their reply is just like either take it or leave it. So at the end I decided to cancel the table and book with... More

My friend and I came to Old China Cafe around 2 p.m., so we were between the lunch and dinner rush. The service was quite attentive and quick. I loved the atmosphere of the small interior - you feel like you have stepped back in time. The old sepia photographs on the wall, antique clocks and narrow staircase charmed me... More

Nice place, really cool that the building is still in its original state. Nice staff, simple but tasteful food. Worth a visit!

I was told this is one of the oldest restaurant in KL, and the interior is well reserved to reflect the bygone era. However food is average but the price is very reasonable so i think it is worth a visit
