off Jalan Petaling -opposite end of Petaling market. Taxi driver should know. Amidst ramshackle shops in China Town this hidden gem awaits. Walk through the swing doors into the 1920's. Built in 1920 the tea shop retains many original features such as portraits of the members from the Selangor & Federal Territiry Laundry Association on which site the tea house... More

Set in an old shop house this restaurant has a perfect, historic ambience. The interior is decorated with many curios from Malaysia's Ethnic Chinese past and seeks to capture a tiny piece of the history of the city. The food is of a high standard and reasonably priced. We located the restaurant using the the Trip Advisor city guide for... More

A favourite - great atmosphere and ambience - a reminder of old KL. Usually easy to park. Reasinable prices, good food - occassionally let down by poor service. Yu can book a table but they are reallly 1st come 1st service so don't expect to get it when you arrive.... with your party of 10 important clients from overseas. But... More

Excellent selection of dishes, from fish head curry to sambal prawns to kerabu salad to gula melaka sago for dessert. Highly recommended if you are in Central Market. Reasonable prices for the portions with a great decor and ambience. A hidden gem in the heart of KL.

The ju hu char is one of the best I have tasted! The asam fish is good also. The melaka coffee is good too.

This palce is recomended by Lonely Planet as the last stop on their Chinatown walk. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to find that there was plenty of room. Maybe it is because you have to walk down a few side streets to get to it but do it. Inspired in the old Chinese Coffee shops with their round tables, it... More

food is reasonably priced and mostly local cuisine. thats the majority choice of food. lighting is great as well except if this is situated in PJ, it will definitely double the crowd.

You can have a fine and tasty dining in a cozy, old -fashion cafe. The coconut milk rice, tradition coffee, curry chicken and duck soup are all good. I think it's more worthy to go to this restaurant than madam kwan's as the price is slightly lower.

Pretty average food that is clearly aimed at westerners (the seemed obsessed with pointing out to diners that dishes were 'spicy'), indifferent service (food sent to wrong table, had to ask for bill 3 times) and the feeling that this is a restaurant resting on its laurels. Starters were OK ('Top Hats' and some greasy dumplings) then had an extremely... More

We had read about this place before coming to KL and as we were in Chinatown thought we'd give it a go! We had to wait a while for a table as it was totally full by the time we arrived, but luckily didn't have to wait long. My boyfriend had the sizzling beef and I had the fried rice,... More
