Had a New Years meal here while staying at the hotel, got a window seat to see all the action outside and the food and drink were amazing, mainly seafood but they did it very well.

We went to this restaurant after walking out of The Shang Restaurant!we had booked the Shang for a Chinese meal but after entering the restaurant we couldn't get out quick enough!the ambience and smell was disgusting. So about La Poi Heen: it was outstanding! We were welcomed very warmly and had a table facing the window with a very nice... More

We planned this little private luncheon for our families to celebrate our wedding registration day about 2 months ago. The employees at Lai Po Heen (Cheong, Wei Ling, and all the crews - so sorry I forgot all your names) have been fantastic to follow up with menu selections to fit our budget and taste buds :) We had a... I was invited to have lunch in this Chinese restaurant in the Mandarin Hotel in KL. Opulent but uninteresting furnishings and basically inhabited by toffs. The food was totally average in its content, preparation and presentation. Sure it had available all the expected favourites and some specialities but nothing memorable. I don't think I'd go back here. There are far... More

Enjoyed a memorable evening with wonderful ambiance, food and service. The Lai Po Hen offers a huge selection of different options, going far beyond what one typically finds on a Chinese menu, including several dishes with Australian venison. The staff did an outstanding job explaining the menu and had the kitchen modify the prep slightly to meet our taste. The... More

The Mandarin Oriental in KL welcomed us warmly, luxurious lobby and smiling faces. The Lai Po Heen restaurant beckoned. We were not disappointed! The service was impeccable. The dishes were all spectacular and the desert of Durian fruit was really excellent. We could not fault anything actually! Started with crispy duck, then followed various meat dishes, crispy fish, scallops, vegetables... More
