I think I've been to Jay's twice before and the first time, the food was good, but I was seated in a large room with bad acoustics and it was terribly LOUD. The next time, I was in a smaller room, and the food was good. I tried the fried shrimp this time, and they were small, and I guess... More

While visiting the area with my Son-in-law, Daughter and Grandson we decided to try this establishment. If you are into heavy fried food, then this is the place for you. If you are looking for healthy then I would suggest you stay away. Even though the buffet was only $11.00 it is mainly (85%) fried foods. Should you choose to... More

If you want a good place to eat, sometimes you have to get off Main Street. Way off. Nestled in a tight curve on a country road way past the local county fairgrounds is where you need to head. I've heard about this place for years and have even tried to stop by a couple of times but they weren't... More

Fried shrimp and flounder doesn't get any better than this. There is a buffet, but I like to order off the menu. Great onion rings and hush puppies, and the tea is always fresh. Worth a visit any time you're near.

You can order from the menu or eat from the food bar. Food bar has seafood as well as other meats and vegetables. Salad bar good and oyster stew also!

Located just a few miles southeast of Albemarle on a quiet little country stretch called Stony Gap Road, is one of the best (if not the best) old school fish camps in the state. I don't often rate restaurants, but this is a gem! Open Thursday evenings through Sunday evenings and Sunday lunch, this place is always packed tight. The... More

The choices of food off the bar are numerous. Most is good and greasy but I find the hush puppies to be very salty.

At $11/person for All You Can Eat was a value. They did not accept credit cards, which was surprising. The food was plentiful and obviously a crowd favorite based on the early packed dining. The food quality was ok.

First of all they do not take plastic. Cash or checks only. We visited on a Sunday, and they were offering a buffet style dinner. Offered was tasteless broiled fish, fried thin fish fillets. Baked chicken, and popcorn shrimp which was the favorite at our table. They also offered many sides. Corn, mash potatoes, gravy, broccoli casseroles, green beans, and... More

Great little buffet for Sunday lunch after going to church. Good home-style country cooking. The chicken n' dumplings are one of my favorites. The cobblers are also wonderful. So to sum it up, there's something for everyone in the family, from the fried chicken to the meatloaf to the cookies and ice cream, it's sure to please. But take cash,... More
