Worth its stars

This was not just a great value but also had some of the most memorable dishes. I won't spoil it for you - just trust me (and the Michelin mandarins). Lunch including deer, abalone, and fugu soft roe was JPY 10000 + 3000 for the wine pairings. I call that a bargain compared to any similar place... read more

Yes, a radish. A very perfect radish. But just a radish -- with the greens and a bit of wasabi cream on the side. An odd opening to a Michelin 3-star restaurant. This was an amazing meal, but one that is very hard to categorize. None of the reviews we had read prepared us for what was to come. And,... More

We wanted to try a michelin star restaurant while in osaka and we are glad to have tried Fujiya 1935. It was a pain finding it because you can't really read the sign, we passed by it 2x before we actually found the place. It took us almost an hour of walking around Chuo-ku ward and asking about 5 people... More

The whole experience was great, I must admit - the food, course by course, was like a little bundle of surprise. The atmosphere and the service was pleasant and casual. The total bill for dinner for 2, with wine pairing, is JPY 35,640 (MYR 1,100 or USD 350). We really enjoyed the dinner and I was lucky enough to have... More

Awarded 3 Michelin stars, Fujiya 1935 serves molecular food so it’s also a multisensory experience. Everything is so elaborate down to a closed wooden box with hot stone to serve the bread so they remain warm but crisp outside. Some of the dishes were garnished with flowers and leaves, they reminded you of a mini garden:). They all tasted very... More

Chicken flavor pretty good, but veggies too oily, I requested to put extra terriaky sauce, I do not know if it was the sauce or all the oil added when cooking, When I ate it it was so greasy that i couldn't eat it, i gave it away since I didn't want to waste it. Not recommended until this people... More

Fujiya 1935 is an incredible restaurant and was one of my favorite meals during our trip to Japan. It has been awarded three Michelin stars. Every course is beautifully presented on equally beautiful dinnerware. The menu consists of seasonal, inventive dishes, such as "sponge" bread filled with pea purée, and changes frequently. Even the rolls are impressive, served in a... More

My husband runs a restaurant in Osaka, and we consider ourselves "foodies". We were blown away not only by the creativity and deliciousness of the food, but also the impeccable interiors. Every single detail has been taken into account - down to the gorgeous pottery used for the plate ware. My special favorite, was an unusual contraption to keep the... More
