Fujiya 1935 offers a quiet, elegant space in which to enjoy contemporary dishes. Like the setting, the food also reflects a modern shift: they elevate dishes in terms of presentation and taste by introducing distinctly Japanese-Western flavours like Kobe beef and fresh Japanese vegetables to the mix. The restaurant is mostly done in a palate of cream and wood colour,... More

Japan is world renounced as a gourmand’s heaven. This is especially the case in Osaka, famous for its ‘kuadore’ culture, aka ‘eat till you drop’. If I need to pick one meal as a favorite out of my brief stay in Osaka, I'd have to say the winner is Fujiya 1935. Communicating with them over the phone for reservations was... More

The menu is a journey in the japanese season with a touch of innovation and outstanding tecnique. Everything start from the entrance where as welcome they serve you water from a japanese tree, supertasty. The best dish we had was the duck and the dessert, the bread was always warm and fragrant presented in a wodden box with a hot... More

My girlfriend and I had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant for as part of a special 99th month (in Mandarin, 9 sounds like long, so it's a good thing to celebrate us being together for long-long time!) together! Made our reservations via opentable.jp, and followed their instructions to leave our contact etc. We couldn't make a reservation via... More

Our most stand-out recollection of Fujiya, notwithstanding the food of course, will be how we were made to feel welcome and the informality almost casual atmosphere of the restaurant. The second memory of this place was how inexpensive the food and wine was. A great little 4 glass wine pairing with our 9 course tasting menu lunch for 3000yen. Bargain.... More

This was not just a great value but also had some of the most memorable dishes. I won't spoil it for you - just trust me (and the Michelin mandarins). Lunch including deer, abalone, and fugu soft roe was JPY 10000 + 3000 for the wine pairings. I call that a bargain compared to any similar place in Paris, London,... More

Yes, a radish. A very perfect radish. But just a radish -- with the greens and a bit of wasabi cream on the side. An odd opening to a Michelin 3-star restaurant. This was an amazing meal, but one that is very hard to categorize. None of the reviews we had read prepared us for what was to come. And,... More

We wanted to try a michelin star restaurant while in osaka and we are glad to have tried Fujiya 1935. It was a pain finding it because you can't really read the sign, we passed by it 2x before we actually found the place. It took us almost an hour of walking around Chuo-ku ward and asking about 5 people... More

The whole experience was great, I must admit - the food, course by course, was like a little bundle of surprise. The atmosphere and the service was pleasant and casual. The total bill for dinner for 2, with wine pairing, is JPY 35,640 (MYR 1,100 or USD 350). We really enjoyed the dinner and I was lucky enough to have... More
