We went to Fujiya 1935 for a family lunch today during our 19 day holiday in Japan. We got the private room seating which is a wow so special. The food is superb and immaculately prepared. The duck main dish is the best duck I ever had in fusion restaurant. I love the first dessert. The second one(Apple cake) was... More

Read about the restaurant in United's in flight magazine, Hemisphere, three days in Osaka. Was able to make reservations one week in advance by phone only when I arrived in Japan. We arrived and were sat at a table near the entrance with a fascinating water feature. We were given a warm lemon drink and were able to relax before... More

Fujiya 1935 is one of the our most anticipated restaurant in our spring trip to Osaka. The restaurant is called Fujiya 1935 because the original restaurant was started by the great grandfather of the current chef Tetsuya Fujiwara in 1935. Chef Fujiwara san was trained in Spain and Italy so we conversed a bit in Italian at the end of the... More

Very inspiring and delicious food. The stuff was so friendly, even that they don't speak too much English. Definitely be back in my next visit to Osaka!

Booked through the concierge of Swissotel Osaka, I managed to pay a visit to Fujiya 1935 with high expectations after reading its comments in different blogs. We were given a menu that lists the dishes so we could know what we were dinning. Overall the food is utterly great that to me there were not any misses in each dish... More

Not wanting to miss out on one of the most affordable 3 star Michelin restaurants in Japan, I made my booking 2 months in advance. Actually, I had been trying to get into their online booking but it simply would not grant me any access. Eventually, it was a phone call that did the job. The place was relatively easy... More

I do not mind trying fusion , or east meets west food, on the condition that the chef has a good basic cooking skill. Fujiya is a good choice. The dishes are creative but not over the top. Very enjoyable.

This is a charming little restaurant with a warm and friendly atmosphere and equally warm and welcoming staff. On arrival you are greeted warmly and any items carried are swiftly taken from you and your seated and served a nice cooling drink, allowing you to cool down and relax before being led past the open, well designed and clearly well... I was lucky to get a lunch appointment with only 2 weeks in advance. At JPY 6,500 p.p. for the fix menu this is a great bargain. The food was outstanding with a nice mix of Japanese ingredients and some molecular touches. The portions are small but with the many dishes, my appetite was easily satisfied. Service was outstanding with... More

I really enjoyed my meal at Fujiya. Not easy to find, we needed the taxi driver to hang around and help us, we realized we were in for an experience in the ante room where a molecular water sculpture gives a feel of what is to come. This is followed by a walk up the stairs next to the (spotless,... More
