One of the better Mexican places I've seen in Japan - or elsewhere

I think this rates as one of the better Mexican places I've seen outside of Mexico. Mexican food is typically toned down a lot in Japan, but this would stand comparison with any Mexican place I've been to in Europe and is one of the very best I've had in Japan. The restaurant is near an exit... read more

We stumbled across this restaurant on trip advisor when trying to hunt for some food places in Osaka, something other than noodles/rice. Ended up being 400m down the road from our hotel. Between my partner and I we both had a beef burrito combo, the beef enchilada combo and some frozen margaritas. Hands down the best Mexican we've ever had.... More

This was absolutely the best Mexican food I have had in a long time! I visited here quite frequently when I lived in Osaka and I can tell you that you get a lot for your money and the food is amazing!

Apparently the only Mexican food in all of Osaka. Unmissable. Fabulous guacamole and burritos - great vegetarian choice.

I went with no expectations (but secretly craving for tacos, horchata and all kind of salsas) and this was quite a good surprise. The decoration reminded me of some places in Barrio Antiguo, Monterrey and the food stays in between of pan-Mexican and tex-mex. Delicious! The horchata and the guava margaritas were killer. They even have tamales! The ambiance was... More

I first went to El Pancho about 27 years ago, on a date with the woman who is now my wife. When I went last week for a going away party, it was much the same as before: a good selection of tequilas and a pretty good menu of Mexican choices for Japan. I had a burrito, nachos (American-style, that... More

What a fantastic restaurant! My partner and I were here in April 2014 and absolutely loved it. It is within the top 2 Mexican Restaurants we have been to of all time (The second being Senor Zorba in Santorini, Greece). The serving size for the large vegetarian plate (I can't remember the exact name) was above generous and the food... More

Ive been coming here for years, always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The cook knows how to make good Mexican food. One certain evenings they have a great guitarist/singer who plays nice tunes that add nicely to the atmosphere. Was my favorite Mexican place in Kansai easily. That being said, the last few times Ive been there the service has... More

The food was amazing! Authentic Mexican, not tex mex. I learnt that the manager/head chef has volunteered in Mexican restaurants and lived in Mexico for a year and he speaks English. His wife is Australian and really helpful for anyone who doesn't speak Japanese. (Like me!). The decorations are great and the place has a lot of atmosphere for a... More

The restaurant is always packed and you'll not get a table at the weekend if you haven't booked in advance. That is probably the reason they don't feel the need to bother with customer service. If you are foreign, you'll often find yourself shoved in a squashed area furthest from the staff with other foriegners which feels a bit, well,... More
