It is a very busy restaurant in a very busy part of the Namba area of Osaka. The first time I tried to have dinner there I was told they could not get any more reservations even though it was only 7:30PM on a Saturday. On Monday, I stopped by at 5:30PM to get in, but all I could was... More

great food and service. you get a much better deal at lunch than dinner (as with most expensive places in Japan!). we went for one of the set menus.... just could not fault it!

Kani Doraku was on our foodie list when we visited Osaka. It's hard to miss this restaurant with the giant crab hanging outside... We went for dinner and had to wait 30-40 min. Once we were seated, the service felt rushed; however, we did arrive about 1-2 hour before closing. Food was decent. Service could be improved.

Just walked pass when go visiting Dotonbori, and my wife is crab favorite food kind of guy. She then asked me to pop in, wow all seats were occupied and we had to put our name in the waiting list for another 30 minutes. Once got inside, so amazing over the price as it was not so expensive as I... More

This is a specialist crab restaurant which is geared towards tourists. The crab is very fresh and there is a good selection of dishes which means you can actually compare the various types of crab e.g. snow crab vs the local Hokkaido crab. The crab dishes are rather pricey though and the service is very slow, so make sure you... More

This restaurant is famous for its moving crab display and also has a reputation for being a bit of tourist trap. That's not an inaccurate summary, but I decided to try the food regardless. Firstly, whilst the restaurant might look empty, it's actually popular so get in early and get your queue number. I made the dire mistake of turning... More

Just got the takeout for crab sushi from the front counter. The crab sushi is excellent, using real crab meat instead of the fishball imitation crabmeat (kani kamaboko) you find elsewhere. There are different grades and prices for the crab meat too.

We had the set crab meat which I think was below average. The crab legs were thin and not much meat in them. The service was average and they asked you to wait one and half hour. However the table was ready in half an hour. They should consider to register your phone number. At least you got to know... More

Visited this place as felt like a must do trip, even if not worth it, at least tried it. Turned out to be great. Lovely different ways of serving crab and all at a reasonable price. The partner and I shared one of their set menu. Not really sure how it's supposed to work, but you can order 1 portion... More
