We came here based on the tripadvisor reviews and were intriguiged by the 'burnt ramen'. This dish was fantastic, and a completely unique tasting ramen which we did not taste anywhere else. We sat at the front of the restaurant which over looks the kitchen and provides a great view of the chiefs cooking the burnt ramen which involves a... More

Burnt Miso ramen is a must try. I found it quite distinctive, and a welcome addition to my knowledge of ramen. Service is friendly and fast, and the prices aren't so bad if you are careful about getting either set menus or their basic dishes. We visited for lunch and weren't forced to order anything but what we chose, unlike... More

The burnt soy-sauce ramen with pork was honestly the best noodle dish I've ever had. In a country with good food absolutely everywhere, we went back the very next night. If you can, I'd walk by during the day and make a reservation for the evening as there can be a big wait outside to get in for dinner. The... More

of flavors in a simple bowel of ramen. That burning with lard along with the other ingredients results in some amazing depth of flavor that lingers long after you've sipped it down. And the noodles are cooked perfectly - for me, at least - with a nice chew. Not just a bowl of salt like so many ramen bowls, but... More

Awesome Ramen!!! The burnt ramen is incredible. Prices are reasonable & Atmosphere is very comfortable & stylish compared to Most ramen shops. I sat at the Ramen bar & got a front row seat to watch the chefs do miracles with their pans of soup broth! A great find for all time excellent Ramen restaurants.

We had to wait long, although it was quite late already and we could see empty tables inside. While waiting, we could already see the flames through the window when the miso was burnt. The ramen is definitely worth the wait, since its taste is unique and delicious. Due to its popularity, the place was a bit touristy and we... More

Third time we've been back over a few years. Burnt ramen very tasty (although very salty... make sure you have a glass of water at hand during the night). But this time we felt slightly cheated. We booked a few hours in advance and were told we'd have to order a drink in order to have a reservation. Fine. Then... More

The ramen here is really good. Lots of varieties. Try the local burned (or is it brown?) miso ramen. Very tasty! The service was good and the restaurant is cute. Definitely recommended for ramen in Kyoto.
