Very cool place. Burnt ramen is worth trying. Very rich and tasty. Gyosa, fried chicken, we're great. Eat here

First of all this place is cool as hell. It's got a steelworks vibe going through and pretty much had us sold just by looking at the place. We ordered the burnt shoyu ramen and really enjoyed it. Very unique taste, but was quite rich. Definitely a must for any ramen fans!

Shop: 9/10 - Location: 8/10 - Food (Not Ramen): 9/10 - Staff: 8/10 - Burned Ramen: 4/10 Me and my girlfriend's first impression was that it looked and felt cozy, and had a good smell. We ordered some side dishes first like Shrimp-Mayo, Karaage, Some Vegetable mix. All was very good quality! Loved the Shrimp. We ordered our Burned Ramen... More

This is our second visit to this restaurant . This is better for lunch than dinner. The atmosphere is nicer downstairs as upstairs is small, cramped and plenty of smokers. The noodles and broth were tasty but the burnt miso broth had black floaters of miso which looked like washings from an iron skillet. The gyoza was tasty but the... More

Went here on strength of previous reviews, and we were not disappointed. Lovely setting, staff and pyrotechnics from the chef. And the food (burnt ramen, and another one that was more creamy) was some of the tastiest we had in Japan

We were only in Kyoto 5 nights, and ate here twice. The second time we say many familiar faces from our first visit. Be prepared to queue for 15 minutes, but it's well worth it. The burnt miso ramen has such a unique flavour, the fried gyoza are delicious, and the sake selection is spot on.

The place is very nice and well furnished. Waiters are kind and fast. The kitchen is exposed, so you can see exactly what the cooks make: it is also fun seeing flames one meter high :D The food is very good and the price is reasonable: With 3000 yen (about 23 euros) I took a main ramen dish with pork,... I've never heard of burnt ramen before until my brother told me! The soup is rich with a slight burnt flavour as you'd expect. It's quite unique - definitely worth a try! After all - where else can you get burnt ramen!

Gogyo has a very unique flavored burnt miso ramen. I consider myself a bit ramen crazy and didn't think twice to come here when I was visiting Kyoto on a day trip. There was a slight wait outside but it moved pretty quickly. The place is very well decorated and comfortable. We also ordered the Tsukemen which I felt was... More
