Burnt ramen overrated

The burnt ramen here seems an affectation. Although the ramen is prepared with care, the use of burned remnants to flavor the broth adds nothing good to the flavor. Likely the other dishes are better.

my wife and i tried the burnt shoyu ramen. both of us found it to be too oily, giving the noodles a bad "mouth feel". the basic flavor of the soup was ok (not great) but the burnt oil was a real downer. we tried it a second time and ordered the shio ramen. the noodles were too thin, like... More

Almost two hours waiting in line to get in. But it's definately WORTH it. The ramen with black soup is very special and signature like no other ( for me). The soup is always hot till the last dip. The atmosphere is good, nice design restaurant and great service. Definately will comr back

Waited for 25 mins outside at 5°c then called our group. Went inside, nice ambiance and warm. Ordered the burnt miso ramen and the gyoza... and it was really amazing... you smell burnt food at first but when in the mouth, the taste completely changed.. must try!!!

This popular restaurant among the young & trendy is overrated & over hyped. There were long queues most of the time. A great way around it is to reserve in advance. Admittedly the food is OK, I'd say above average but quite pricey, especially comparing to many nearby eateries in Nishki Market. Decor is modern & spacious with a good... More

This place was a HUGE SCAM. Unbelievable. Firstly, we waited close to an hour out in the freezing cold even though they had empty tables because their service was so slow. Then, the ramen came with lots of add-ons and was much more expensive (1100 yen) versus ichiran ramen or Ippudo at 800 yen. The worst part was when AFTER... More

I went there around 2pm, which still takes me 20 plus minutes to wait. But I think worth trying their ramen. I like the shoyu and mom like the miso. The miso was a little bit too salty. also ordered the gyoza because it looks delicious, but end up can't finish the rice.

This place usually has long lines but we were lucky and didn't have to wait to get for lunch. The burnt miso ramen was very delicious and rich. The gyoza was also very decent. I would recommend this place if you are in the area. It is definitely worth going to.

The restaurant had a long line waiting in the cold when I first approached it, which is usually a testament to how much people (locals and tourists) want to eat at the place. We got a seat at the bar which was warm and close to the action in the kitchen - big flames from the miso-searing wok and the... More
