Unorthodox Japanese fine dining

The restaurant isn't that big, but was full of surprises. After almost a full week of Japanese menu, Mimasuya offers an excellent alternative. Chef use the same ingredient for common dishes but twisted it with different finishes. Thumps up for his creativity!

We jumped in this pretty restaurant by chance. Reviews were good and the menu showed affordable prices with a beautiful location. We then decided to step in and th decision was really good. The place is typical Japanese. You have to take off your shoes at the entrance. The food was very tasty although the portions were somehow small. I... More

We made a reservation so everything started off wonderful, we got to skip the line and get a seat immediately at a beautiful outdoor table. First we ordered a few starters, two of which came quickly enough, the third one took them the better part of 45 minutes to produce. About 20 minutes after we put in the appetizers we... More

For top drawer dining with a river view from upstairs or even outdoor dining, treat yourself to this very special spot. But get there early (we did about 5:15) as their reputation precedes them or you'll face a wait. Well appointed with superb service and wide menu offerings even beef options, Mimasuya won't disappoint or break the bank and you'll... More

Everything we had was delicious. Probably not the place if you are looking for very traditional food but a great choice overall if you are looking for modern Japanese food. Pleasant riverside patio. Service was very good and menu was in English as well. Did have to wait a bit as outside tables were full but glad we did. Prices... More

Restaurant advertises menu outside front door stating the the outdoor space is open. As we wanted the view we went in. We we then told that if we wanted to order off the menu outside restaurant and sit outside we would be charged an additional 1000yen per person. Bread was served in a paper bag, however other tables received theirs... More

After 20 minutes in the waiting area we took a seat upstairs rather than waiting even longer to be outside. We were sat at 8 pm and literally no one came and talked to us after that. No water, no drink order, no appetizer order, no I'll come back and check on you, nothing. We waited 20 minutes patiently and... More

We were seated on the second floor overlooking the water and had various courses--all delicious. They included Sashimi (raw yellow tail fish with wasabi soy sauce), deep fried scallop, roast beef, Teriyaki chicken, pork cooked with soy sauce, lettuce salad, rolled sushi, miso soup and for dessert ice cream and tofu tiramisu.

What a little gem! We chose this place late at night because it was still open and had an English menu. We got a table overlooking the river, which was nice. And the food was amazingly good. Its Japanese French fusion -lots of butter- so we didnt know what to expect but everything tasted excellent. Also, super cute and friendly... More

We booked the night before and were shown to a lovely upstairs table overlooking the river. The food was delicious - but the service was atrocious - really surly waiter from start to finish and it took 2 hours from ordering to receiving our last main course - we didnt have time to order desert nor did we feel that...
