It wasn't always easy to find vegetarian options in Kyoto (most ramen dishes are made with fish-based broth), so this was a real treat. Lonely Planet guide said it was the best Indian food in Kyoto, so I tried it. Without conducting a proper survey, I can't make such a definitive statement, but it was delicious and a great deal.... During our stay in Kyoto we visited this restaurent 3 times. The second time we were 10 minutes late and the kitchen was already closed. The last dinner order is at 9pm. They have Delicious Indian food and strict rules of the young owner. Both Mutton Biryani and Mutton Kerala Special curry were delicious. The young unfriendly looking owner who... More

Food was of a good standard but the only thing that let it down was the dreadful service, their attitude towards customers.

I went to the restaurant today on the basis of internet recommendations. Food just very average, have eaten far better in other less well known Indian restaurants. One of the curries was watery and not very tasty.Expected much more, will not be back.

Great find in Kyoto, food was of a good standard the only thing that let it down was the dreadful service, their attitude could do with an adjustment. Highly recommend booking in advance as this place was extremely busy. The tikka masala and tofu curry were exceptionally good.

Honestly, a person can have enough fish & rice in a week to last a lifetime, so it's great to find something completely different in Kyoto. And you know that you are not going to be served something really unusual. Food is very good and staff friendly. As others say, the naan is amazing. There is a bus stop (#205,... More

It was a bit unexpected to find a good Indian in Kyoto but we stumbled across one on our Lonely Planet and decided to give it a go. It's quite a small place and was really busy on a Tuesday night when we got there. The waiter spoke great English and took good care of us. After a week of... More

This restaurant has good reviews on tripadvisor and in Fodors, but was disappointing in quality and ambience. The people working there were not at all friendly, and the food was flavorless. No spice, no seasoning, and simply dripping in butter/ghee. It was also expensive comparatively to much better quality restaurants! Even if you're sick of Japanese food, this is not... More

Ate twice at this restaurant and was very satisfied. Seating is quite compact, but the restaurant doesn't feel too claustrophobic. They have a great lunch special with soup or chai and thali. Food was really tasty and the naan was excellent. Spice levels are not too hot. Service was quite snappy even though the restaurant was full. Walked right past... More
