This is the best katsukura chain for me. I love their unlimited barley rice, salad and miso soup. Servings are big. This is located at the top floor of the Kyoto train station. I would go there early as it is pretty busy during peak hours and there's always a line.

We enjoyed this restaurant. Nothing over the top, but a fun dining experience in the Kyoto Station mall. The cutlets were great as were all the fried foods. What made things really fun is that you get a bowl of toasted sesame seeds and a mortal and pestle to grind them. Then you add a blend of sauces to your... More

Definitely reccommend this place for katsu. They even do vegetarian katsu, but be aware the vegetable curry and the potato cutlets both contain meat so avoid those. Helpful staff, the waitress was struggling to explain to us about the meat in the curry with our absence of japanese vocabulary but went to get one of the chefs to explained to... More

Crispy on the outside and, juicy inside. They have English menu available and you can order different sizes of the meat. I had the 120g Loin cut which was really really good with the 3 different sauces. Bill came up to be 2000 Yen per person!

We ate 2 days in this reataurant. The first was perfect. The tokantsu was perfect, crispy, with no oil and the meat perfectly cooked. Also the shrimps were excelent. The second day we ordererd the same and it was not good at all. Lot of oil, meat overcooked and lot of flavour. Was the cooker different ???? They are not... More

My friends highly recommended this place for its juicy thick Kurobuta tonkotsu. This particular restaurant cuts its Kurobuta at least 2" thick and its tonkotsu is still juicy in the inside and crispy on the inside. They said it's the very reason why they fell in love with tonkotsu. It's really good but I guess I am not too keen... More

The Taiwanese family sitting beside me came on the recommendation of reviews like those before this. Seems like we are the result of mob instinct and the quality of the food from rice to sauces to vegatables and of course even the premium quality pork fillet is nothing short but ordinary. After their first mouthfuls, they did not disagree the... More

We went to this restaurant on our first night in kyoto. At the restaurant there was a queqe om 45 min but we waited and we were happy about that. The food was great, the location and the atmosphere too, and we sat next to an old japanese coupe where the man spoke english. We talked to him about kyoto... More

We ordered the tonkatsu (especial pork cutlet) and it was delicious - crispy and smooth. In addition to tourists, plenty of locals which confirm its quality.

This is the best ever katsu ever touched by my tongue :) Their rice is also perfect. Two thumbs up. The location is hard to find. But when you've experienced it, well it was quite worth the effort. Tenderloin katsu is a must try.
