Great healthy fast food

Locayed in the train station, is very convenient to have a fast bitr. Free rice and misou soup included in a per se complete set menu. Not a bad option but nothing espectacular.

My grand daughter wanted to eat fried pork cutlet at another restaurant but I halted her and promise to take her to try the tonkatsu ay Latsukura, We had a hard time to find Katsukuga (turn left instead of right at the end of restaurants on Isetan's 11th floor. When found it we were the tail of a long line... More

Though as stations go out is better than most. Check out the skyway and the roof garden. Just find the big escalators by the North entrance and keep going up. There are attached shopping malls and a. Aeon just south of the station. You can easily kill a half day here if you have things to buy. But there are... More

I asked at the Granvia Hitel for Katsu and this is where they sent me and this is where they go themselves. I've had this in other places just as good maybe a lower price but the view is worth having dinner here at night. Enjoy!

I visited this restaurant with my wife and three children on a Sunday night after reading the reviews and recommendations. As per some of the reviews, the restaurant is a bit hard to find. When you go into the Shopping centre from the station you can turn left and take the elevator but the line will likely to be quite... More

Went to this place for dinner because of the great review on my guide book - didn't expect to spend around 40 minutes in a queue! The place was absolutely packed! Didn't see many westerners there even though they do provide English menu - I guess it's because most people think deep fried pork cutlet is not a healthy choice... More

Location on 11 th floor at railway station buldings says not much but this is really very good restaurant serving katsu. You can choose meat you like and they have several another dishes to try. Everything tested delicious for me and my family. French red table wine is not the best. Better stay with beer or sake. Very recommended.

Food was a 3.5 but it's a quick meal at a clean restaurant with pleasant service so gave them a four. The size and softness of the tonkatsu meat were both good. Big pieces of meat that were tender. I thought the sauce was just okay which took away from the meal. My favorite part of a tonkatsu is the... More

We visited for late lunch on a Sunday and there was still a small queue outside even though it was already 2pm. The Tonkatsu is amazing and melt in your mouth, easily the best we have had. They also have unlimited refills of Chinese cabbage, miso soup or rice. The restaurant is a little hard to find, being on the... More

Excellent tonkatsu. As always in Japan the service is impeccable; the waitress even took the time to explain to us how to mix the sauce with the sesame seeds. English menu is available and credit cards are accepted. I'll come back again.

Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighborhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
