The dipping sauces were really good (you grind up your own sesame and mix w/ your fav sauce, very aromatic!). The pork was dry and the service wasnt great.

Queued for about 30 minutes to get a table here at peak dinner time... it was absolutely worth it. The food is very good - we shared one tonkatsu and one portion of spare rib. This was equally good. The tonkatsu comes with unlimited soup, rice and cabbage - all of the accompaniments are excellent and refreshed frequently. Prices are... More

We had tonkatsu here and at maison in tokyo while traveling in japan and this place handsdown is the best. Cooked to perfection, crispy and not oily at all.

We went here after reading all the good reviews on TA. After some sightseeing in the morning we arrived at Kyoto station around 2:00 pm. I guess most people had already had lunch by that time. Friendly staff seated us immediately. We had the tonkatsu for which this place is famous. And it was the best I ever tasted. If... More

This is the best katsukura chain for me. I love their unlimited barley rice, salad and miso soup. Servings are big. This is located at the top floor of the Kyoto train station. I would go there early as it is pretty busy during peak hours and there's always a line.

We enjoyed this restaurant. Nothing over the top, but a fun dining experience in the Kyoto Station mall. The cutlets were great as were all the fried foods. What made things really fun is that you get a bowl of toasted sesame seeds and a mortal and pestle to grind them. Then you add a blend of sauces to your... More

Definitely reccommend this place for katsu. They even do vegetarian katsu, but be aware the vegetable curry and the potato cutlets both contain meat so avoid those. Helpful staff, the waitress was struggling to explain to us about the meat in the curry with our absence of japanese vocabulary but went to get one of the chefs to explained to... More

Crispy on the outside and, juicy inside. They have English menu available and you can order different sizes of the meat. I had the 120g Loin cut which was really really good with the 3 different sauces. Bill came up to be 2000 Yen per person!

We ate 2 days in this reataurant. The first was perfect. The tokantsu was perfect, crispy, with no oil and the meat perfectly cooked. Also the shrimps were excelent. The second day we ordererd the same and it was not good at all. Lot of oil, meat overcooked and lot of flavour. Was the cooker different ???? They are not... More

My friends highly recommended this place for its juicy thick Kurobuta tonkotsu. This particular restaurant cuts its Kurobuta at least 2" thick and its tonkotsu is still juicy in the inside and crispy on the inside. They said it's the very reason why they fell in love with tonkotsu. It's really good but I guess I am not too keen... More
