Huge portions and good

This is a great place to try okonomiyaki. It is very crowded at lunch and we waited to be seated. All locals which is a good sign. Sit at the counter and you can see the cooks constructing it. They show you a schematic in English of the layers: crepe, cabbage, fried noodles, lard (actually bacon... read more

Big portions, so be ready to share. Had the soba seafood one, and it was amazing! Sampled a few other a la carte menu like the fried rice and beef, but nothing comes close to the Okonomiyaki.

If you go there to eat try to get a seat at the counter, where the cooks are located. We were seated at a table and had only a glimpse of the cooking action. The food was as good as my wife, who lived in Hiroshima in the very early 80's, had said it would be. This restaurant was there... More

The portion was massive! I got the recommended one with cabbage squid pork soba prawns rice cake....I sat at the bar table to watch them make it and asked for the okonomiyaki to be served on the hot plate. It does its job in keeping it heated. I really struggled to finish it though making it less enjoyable. I recommend... More

You should take Okonomiyaki as you visit Hiroshima. Okonomiyaki is the Japanese soul food. It's a good taste food because you can choice various topping. For example pork, egg, seafood, noodle. I recommend you this Okonomiyaki restaurant in Hiroshima. You can enjoy exotic food at clean space. It cost about 8$.

My wife's parents (who live in Nagano prefecture in central Honshu) dined at this okonomiyaki-ya when they visited Hiroshima 10 years ago...and recommended it to us. We weren't disappointed. The okonomiyaki we had was first rate. The restaurant opened in 1950 and the fact it is still around indicates our food experience was no fluke.

My wife and I really enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. The chef was very friendly and despite his admission of 'little english' was able to communicate what we wanted. My wife is vegetarian so no egg or any meat in her okonomiyaki and he went to great trouble to ensure the cook top was cleaned of any egg or... More

Me and my friend had a nice day out in Miyajima, and as we were going back with the Shinkansen we decided we'd eat some Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki for dinner before going to the station. So we did some research what places should one eat a traditional one, and that's how we found the small "chain" (they have only three... More

We tried this restaurant by hotel staff's recommendation. It was not that busy than I had expected (I guess it was not right on dinner time). We enjoyed watching their technique and Okonomiyaki was super tasty. English menu is also available!

You can enjoy it in Hiroshima Airport and Hiroshima station (Shinkansen). But, this one was worth visiting because the owner oversees its operation. I was totally satisfied with good Japanese local food there. Based on more than 20 Okonomiyaki experiences, I recommend to have special type of Okonomiyaki, really good combination with Pork, seafood, and sauce. It opens everyday from... More
