One of a famous okonomiyaki restaurant in Hiroshima. We ordered 2 okonimiyaki for 2 ladies, turnd out it was too big for us considered that we want to have other Hiroshima food. The taste was good. I feeled a little bit salty but I think...it is Hiroshima taste style.More

This is the best (first) okonomiyaki I’ve ever eaten. There is a line and like others have said, it moves fast. The DX Special is delicious and more than enough to fill most people. There is a simple English menu.

If you're looking for a place with great okonomiyaki this is the place to go! Mitchan Sohoten Hatchobori is very popular, so there is often a line out the door, but the turnover is quick. English and other language menus are provided and your order...is taken while you're waiting in line, so the wait at the table is less. There is a counter seating, where you can see your meal being made, as well as long tables where you sit in larger groups. The service is very efficient and the food delicious. We found the meals quite large, and were unable to finish, so can be shared easily between two people.More

We learned about this place from the JapanTravel app. It is said you have to try the okonomiyaki of Hiroshima which is unique and different from other places around Japan. We don’t actually have opportunities to taste various kind of okonomiyaki and guess don’t have...the right to say this one is unique BUT we definitely love the one we ate at Mitchan especially in cold of winter. You can also see how the chefs cook it in the kind of open kitchen and a very interesting experience. It is served hot and boy it is a big portion. You can either choose udon or ramen as the base. It is very local and with a cold draft beer it is just excellent. We came by about 6pm so it was full but not too crowded yet, and we managed to sit immediately. The waitress was very friendly and warm. So,, don’t forget to try out and I promise you won’t regret!More

This is a great place for okonimiyaki Hiroshima style. This was within the food area of the station so convenient. It was crowded but seating comes in orderly fashion. We avoided the narrow tables and sat at the warm narrow counter and saw our food being...made. We asked for it without pork lard and they were happy to do it and also change the toppings the way we waned. great taste as the mix comes alive with cabbage and eggs to top it off. Cheese option was spread at the end. Onions, seafood etc were all available. The chefs had broken English but the English menu was a great help!More

Nice restaurant to have your hiroshima style okonomiyaki. There is a english menu, so even if you dont speak japanese you dont have to go home hungry. You can see how the cook prepare your meal, because the kitchen is open.

We found this restaurant from a web recommendation. At about 7.30pm, we only had a few minutes wait for a table. We were given an English menu, and decided to share oyster fritters and a shrimp and squid okinomiyaki. Both were delicious. Expect to share...a table, but it's part of the fun of the place. Japanese fast food with delicious flavours.More

A great place to try Hiroshima style okinomiyaki, at the location that started it! Note: table seating is picnic table style and tables are fairly narrow. If you go early eg 6pm without a res you shouldn't have a long wait. We were a party...of 2. If you're using Google maps to get there be aware that there is no sign in English, although there are menus in English inside. Attached is a photo so you'll know you've arrived at the right locationMore

Looking to try some Japanese food we hadn’t yet had, decided to try this place as recommended in a sightseeing guide. We are the special which certainly made it a big meal but it was most enjoyable. You also get to see them making it...& they don’t mind if you take a photo.More

Went here as it was recommended by the hotel and in the guide book. About a 20min well ordered queue (would expect anything less from the Japanese). It’s communal seating at three long tables. I had the special and my wife had the prawn. Both...huge portions. Very tasty. Not sure I’d choose it everyday but it was a good experience for the Hiroshima speciality. Not tourist prices and the clientele was about 50/50 locals/tourists.More

Visited today for luncheon. They have an English menu. I recommend the oyster Okonomiyaki pancake with ramen. This comes in a huge portion with about a pound of cabbage fried in, along with onions, bacon and about 9 oysters. This is no tourist place, and...the prices are quite reasonable. Just super!More

Perfectly located between Hiroshima train station and Peace Memorial Park, Mitchan is a must stop place !!! In spite of 30 minutes queuing to get in, you'll be blasted by different types of okonomiyaki they prepare in front of you, coming so tasty, crunchy, yummy...! Teppaniyaki oysters are definitely a must try as well, perfectlu seasoned and falling cheap for large suantity served. Best restaurant of my week in Japan.More

Definitely lives up to the reputation! Extremely large portions served hot and fresh. Reasonable prices and friendly service. They speak more English than I speak Japanese. Sitting can get tough but the four of us only waited five minutes

My family and I had dinner at Mitchan Sohoten in Hatchobori. When we arrived at 5.30pm, there was a queue of about 10 pax, with the restaurant already fully occupied. We had the special and DX okonomiyakis - they were huge and delicious. Do drop...by if in the area.More

I didn’t read reviews before I went to this restaurant. I wanted to eat Okonomyaki and this was recommend in a magazine. The staff didn’t speak any English but had a small English menu. The Okonomyaki was amazing and I wish I could go back...for more! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area!More
