Nice For A Change

Had food and a few beers here. Makes a nice change and a cottage pie is always welcome. Like all irish bars abroad it fits the standard mold. Easy to find and great staff!

As much as I loved the Japanese culture on my trip it was nice to find a 'proper' pub for an afternoon to relax. Great western food and beer. Frequented by Japanese and Westerners, a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. A bit tricky to find but worth looking for.

They say its not a good idea to try and revisit the past and this held true for a return to Molly Malone's Hiroshima. After a ten year absence I managed to find Molly Malone's again on a visit to Hiroshima in October. Nothing had changed in terms of the look of the place but I can't say we were... More

Hi Monticat1 Thank you for your review and apologies for your negative experience. I am sorry you didn't feel as welcomed as your original visit. Even though your visit was back in October I do have a vague memory of your visit and again I am sorry I didn't do my utmost to make you feel welcome, maybe I was... More

We ended up visiting Molly's for a beer after a long day discovering Hiroshima. The owner offered us some good advice for the next day and an even better beer. Good watering hole and good pub meals.

This pub is on what is dubbed as the western quarter in Hiroshima. From the outside it looks like a normal pub. When you go inside you would not be able to tell from the decor that you were in Japan. There is quite a lot of seating. On the day I was there it was really packed so my... More

We fought it as long as we could - trying to stay 'local' with beers and food in Japan. However, on our last day we thought we'd pop in. Very nice bar, luckily not full with tourists and most were Japanese. I am a seasoned Guinness drinker and reluctantly tried a pint - it was excellent. Do go if you... More

they welcome you with warm-colored lights, have many kinds of drinks (beers too), traditional foods are awesome, they make you feel like you're not in Japan but they politely offer you Japanese-style service with smiles. Moreover, the customers that you can make friends with come from all over the world. No matter if you're Asian, North American, Latino, European or... More

This is a good, traditional bar that has a decent range of beers on tap and varied menu. It doesn't fall into the trap of many by overplaying the Irish angle but is instead just a good place to relax and get a bite to eat. When I was there it seemed to be catering as much for locals as... More

The atmosphere and beer selection are great. It definitely feels like Irish Pub in the heart of Hiroshima. But the food seems a bit pricey for what it is. It also wasn't that good. I ordered Irish Stew and it was more like hot broth with few chunks of lamb with potato and carrot and the bread serviced with it... More
