Very impressed with the quality of the Lamb BBQ. The small restaurant ONLY serve one kind of food- lamb with lots of onions. Small portion but good quality. Turnover is really fast so it is OK to wait. For people who do not appreciate people smoking next to you, this is a bid of problem since smoking is allow and... More

Followed the TA reviews to taste for myself . Got there at 9pm and had to join eight people waiting outside . Took about thirty mins to get in . Place not much bigger than most people's bathroom , seating about 14 people in a semi circle bar stool type arrangement . Small fire driven grill plates set out in... More

I am not much of the lamb fan but Daruma definitely made me enjoy the lamb BBQ. Unlike the Sapporo Beer Garden which you pay for the buffet with lower grade of lamb. I rather go for Daruma. If it is your only chance to try Jingisukan, I hope that one would choose to try here.

Yummy lamb BBQ. I got the nice flavour lingered in my mouth long after I finished the dinner. The previous reviews are right. You don't need the menu. They'll bring you 2 dishes of lamb to start with, then more and more as you ask. We didn't drink. It costs us about 15AUD per person. You don't need buffet, just... More

While beef is a staple in Japan, exquisite meats like lamb, mutton are harder to find. Which brings me to the next point; mutton that are more commonly found suffer from lingering stench. The mutton at Genghis Khan Daruma is different, however. The meat is succulent, no lingering stench or bad aftertaste. The natural lamb lard that flows down the... More

Better have your taste buds ready because ram meat is exquisite and a bit strong on the palate. Unlike beef or pork, people from Sapporro like black faced ram meat better.

Jingisukan is one of the most traditional plates in Hokkaido, perfect for winter nights. Well, I had it in summer and I can guarantee that the taste was amazing anyway. I went to the Daruma branch in Susukino, a tiny place packed with local people coming here to be blessed by this juicy delicious experience. You might have to queue... More

this restaurant has 3 branches in Sapporo, all in streets parallel to each other. We went to the one near Susukino station. It closes pretty late, which was good since we were looking for a place that was still open at around 10pm. Hotel staff recommended this place to us. Menu is very simple, easy to order. Prices are reasonable,... More

I'm not sure which location we went to except that it was in Susukino. We went there on a recommendation from our hotel. There was a wait but luckily there was room to wait indoor out of the cold. I can read some Japanese so as we sat there I figured out the menu written on the wall was mostly... More
