Everything is finely done with precision. The dining experience is wonderful. It's not cheap but the quality is good.

It was for the first time Hokkaido has 4 restaurant wining the coveted 3 Stars Michellin award. As usual last minute reservation was totally impossible for group of 10, perhaps two they can squeeze in on waiting list as my friend did. I heard that this restaurant is THE best sushi restaurant in Sapporo, but it definitely is NOT up to my expectation. Ants were running on the sushi bar. Ants were in miso soup. Sushi zen might have a good history and got many awards, but I really don't think it is up to its name.

The sushi master chose for us and showed us the Japanese word for the type of fish and explained what it was for the unusual types. The fish was incredibly fresh and each morsel was beautifully presented on different plates.... More

The sushi at this place is mediocre, but the wrappers are so artistic. That's probably why it is so popular with middle-aged and elderly women.
