Great atmosphere, outdoor area very pleasant.

It was a great afternoon outside on the terrace beer was cold, afternoon warm, very pleasant for sure. Ordered a few dishes, taco with pork, melted cheese with chorizo, both were just warm enough not to complain and cold enough to not really enjoy. The Guacomole was runny and not cold enough... read more

For non-Chinese food this is my favorite restaurant in Kunming. Not the cheapest place to eat but unless on a backpacker budget very reasonably priced. The restaurant produces modern Mexican cuisine, artfully presented with great taste. As with almost any restaurant in China, service is spotty and requires active solicitation of the servers. Several nights per week they have great... More

I saw some of the pictures on trip advisor of this restaurant and decided it was worth a look. Like one of the other people who has written a review I was also told I had to wait until 4.30 to eat. This was a little bit frustrating but I was in no hurry. I ordered nachos a pork dish... More

This place is not that easy to find, but the food is really good. The interior is special, great atmosphere.

I recently dined at this restaurant with two of my colleagues. The dishes are not authentic Mexican , but for China they are far better than average for what passes here as Mexican food. The owner is quite anxious to please and sent our table three dishes of sauer cream for our nachos and other orders when our original dishes... More

WOW! Some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had… and I’ve had a lot. Based on some of the reviews here, we went to Cacao with high expectations, which is normally a recipe for disappointment, but this place did not fail to impress. We tried the Super Nachos, Enchiladas Rojas, Tacos del Pastor and Chicken Mole. Everything was SUPERB.... More

Excited to eat Mexican food, we biked across the city to get to Cacao. When we arrived at noon, the place was closed, but a woman in the restaurant told us it opened at 2pm. We killed two hours roaming around the boring shops, came back, the door was opened so we sat in their waiting area for service. All... More

Located in the decidedly up-scale Fortune Center (at the intersection of Beijing Road and Bei Chen Avenue), this is one of the classiest Mexican restaurants I have ever seen. Cacao is run by three Mexican nationals who are both creative cooks and excellent hosts. This is an upscale eatery with stylish modern furniture and decor, an outside eating area (large... More
