First of all, for those of you who aren't Chinese mailmen, it's located on the fourth floor of a shopping mall that says (not called) Vanguard on the outside. The atmosphere doesn't have the usual pep that comes with Tex Mex, but is rather kind of dull. I guess synthesizers and pan flutes playing church music constitutes as Texan? So... More

"I'll have this, please" "Sorry, no have" "OK, I'll try this instead." "Buhaoyise, no have" "OK... Do you have this?" "So sorry. Ha ha ha." ... If you're not accustomed to Chinese culture, this is maddening. They don't have or can't make half of what's on the very extensive menu, and they don't have sour cream to serve with anything... More

Folks don't usually come to Xi'an to eat non-Chinese food but should you find yourself a bit tired of local fare then this place is for you. The portions are good sized, cheapest steak and eggs in the city, and the staff are really friendly and helpful and most importantly the consistency is always the same no matter what day... More

This is as good as the city has to offer in the terms of Western grub. It is in a mall so the environment is a bit dull, but at least they utilize the heat. It is warm and cozy and a decent place to linger. The smoothies are good, especially the mango one. It is packed with Chinese families... More

Enjoyed the whole dining experience. The food and presentation is as close a representation of Texas Tex-Mex as I have had outside of Texas. Reviews by Brits and others don't count for much. I've eaten at other city locations, namely Chengdu, and have been quite pleased overall with service and food. Of course, there have been a few breakdowns in... More

I regularly frequent Pete's Tex Mex and, although the portion sizes seem to have become smaller since it's opening, I find the restaurant to be one of the best in Xi'an. Every dish I have had has been cooked to perfection and is delicious from start to finish. The steak here is particularly good. The staff are some of the... More

Service was great and the fajitas hit the spot. The best part was finding a can of Dr. Pepper in China.

Even though it is the only so called . . . Tex Mex Grill in Xi'an, it is NOT worth a visit. Perhaps it is because they cannot find the chefs, perhaps it is because they want to put their own twist on things, perhaps they cannot read a recipe or perhaps they just do not know what they are... More

This place is great. I've had the burritos, the enchiladas, the nachos, chimichangas and fajitas. They were all excellent. You have a choice of shredded chicken or beef. They are both better than the ground beef. Desserts are also excellent. I always have the cocoanut chocolate chip walnut pie. They also have Dr. Pepper! You would think that you were... More

Food tasty and all left feeling satisfied: tacos, chimichangas and burritos. Mains about 60 rmb Kids area, 'special' plates etc for kids - kids menu if desired for abt 36 rmb Friendly staff who spoke 'good' English. Restaurant located in Capita Plaza (not Cade as it says above) this is quite new and not located on any of the visitor... More
