Interesting show

The show was a good way to understand more about the cultural history of the area. I think the food was not the best and the show was occasionally a bit repetitive, but we were glad we had the opportunity to learn more about Chinese culture. Some of the dancing was amazing--glad we saw it.

Excellent show, not just a tacky show put on for western tourists as plenty of Chinese too. Several courses, nicely served. Beautifully laid tables and nice menus. Excellent show, fab costumes etc

After a day out at the Terracotta Warriors we were taken to this evening show in a theatre come restaurant. The meal comprised 15 courses of dumplings of every variety which was a pleasurable, if not gastronomic experience. The show was a very colourful event with what was described as traditional dancing and music. A pleasant evening event to round... More

We only attended the show and did not eat at the restaurant. The show was good, but not spectacular. It was interesting from a historical standpoint, but seemed a little over-the-top at times. At times could be very loud, more than needed. I've seen reviews where it was all western tourists that attended, but the night we were there the... More

We skipped dinner and just went for the show. Our tablemates told us that we made a wise decision. The show was entertaining and the music portions were very nice. The show was English-friendly and most of it was quite lively. We had a good time. It was packed to walls with tourists (it looked like mainly Aussies of retirement... More

(This review covers the performance only; we did not choose either dinner option, as the price seemed high compared to some of the excellent  nearby restaurants.)   We had high expectations for this performance, given its consistently high ratings on various travel sites.  Unfortunately, our expectations didn't come close to being met.    The show is a composite of several... The dumplings were certainly not the best in the area. Obviously done plain and tasteless for foreign tourists like us. No reason for them to be cold. We have had much better in the city. The show was pleasant enough but would not recommend unless part of your package with no other options.

we partook of the dumpling dinner in one of the restaurant's rooms prior to convening to the theater for the show. the appetizer dish that includes jellyfish, cha siu, beef slices, chicken, tomato, cucumbers and peanuts is not everyone's cup of tea but that meant there was more for me. the dumplings made up the majority of the dinner and...
