We went for lunch as a part of a tour and did not see this show so I can't comment on that part. The lunch buffet was fine, nothing special. They did offer some freshly made noodles in two varieties. I seem to remember salad, fried wantons, fruit, noodles, sushi, and a few other choices on the buffet. Service was... More

This restaurant is a beautiful portrayal of what ancient China most likely felt/ looked like. The food was definitely up to par and the atmosphere was great. Hearing live music and seeing the authentic performance definitely brought me satisfaction that I've been looking for on my trip to China. Highly recommended.

I really don't get the previous reviews. Is it geared to foreign tourists? Yes, of course. The big foreign tour groups are the primary patrons but on the night we attended there were also a lot of Chinese present. Though I agree the service is rushed, everyone at our table enjoyed the meal. What I really don't understand are the... More

We had the dumpling dinner / performance package for RMB 400: 1. We had to eat the dumplings in a separate room as we didn't book the dinner / performance package for 500. Nobody told us in advance... 2. The service was very bad, even for Chinese standards. 3. Although the chef is one of the most famous in Xi'an... More

The music was decent in a low-budget Chinese movie kind of way. The show was up and down. Had some good performers and some quite average. The food was terrible! plates of so-so Chinese food rushed to your table so the show can get started. I did like the unlimited Chinese sake served warm during the meal. Not worth the... More

The show is nothing special. Very westernized, tacky and over-the-top costumes and soundtrack. Really don't see how this relates to chinese history. The meal itself is of a very poor quality, much better restaurant food can be found in xian for a fraction of the price. Besides which, I would much rather have a small quantity of good quality food... More

I had heard this was touristy so we were not going to go to the show but our Xi'an born as raised your guide told us it was worth it to learn more about the Tang Dynasty. I am glad we did! It was beautiful and entertaining. The food was also pretty good for being served in a theater. The... More

A touristy dinner show that provided beautiful costumes and music, a beautiful atmosphere but a so-so dinner. We went here as part of our tour with a tour group, and the place was filled with nothing but other tourists. Sit down dinner provided was just OK. We also went here for the lunch buffet with our group. It had more... More

Although the dumplings weren't the best I've ever had and the audience was full of tourists, the show seemed fairly authentic. This is a good way to get a glimpse of traditional Chinese music and dance. Doors open for dinner at 6 PM. Getting there by 6:30 or 6:45 is fine. Show starts at 8 PM and is done just... More

I have never been a big fan of Opera style performances, but I have to admit that being accompanied with my wife and two teenagers, we all agreed that this was well worth the visit. The food was nice, not outstanding, and we found that there was enough good quality food for the evening. Due to the layout to watch... More
