Good enough for Putin's 50th Birthday party... good enough for us.

We were told that Mr Putin had his 50th birthday party at this restaurant... we hope he had as a good time like we did. After a most disappointing lunch the previous day at another 'tourist trap' restaurant (the Summer Palace), we grimaced a bit when we arrived at yet another 'authentic... read more

After a most disappointing lunch the previous day at another 'tourist trap' restaurant (the Summer Palace), we grimaced a bit when we arrived at yet another 'authentic 'reproduction Russian log-cabin building for our "Russian experience"... A typical touristy place, Russian kitsch big time! Food very average, Russian (and some non-Russian passed on as Russian) songs not very well sung that make you cringe. Avoid it f you don't want to feel like a stereotypical gawping tourist with low education and scant knowledge. And it'sat least one-hour drive from the city center. It may be a... More

Great food and of course great vodka. They make their own flavored vodkas that should be tried..Gets crowded with tourists groups during the day so call ahead to reserve a table. They also have a small store with a good collections of Russian souvenirs.

We didn't go as a tour group so we ordered a la carte. Everything was lovely. We got to enjoy the folksy performances for the other groups so it was nice. Pumpkin pancake was such a pleasant surprise. The restaurant name means 'Homestead'. Animal lovers would be turned off by the display of mounted bear, bear skins & other animals... More

This restaurant is very unique with great "log cabin" décor and entertainment. Loved the lunch....potato pancakes, sausages with sauerkraut were excellent. The small gift shop had really nice quality items (we spent a bundle here). Great for a tour stop since they have a huge dining room upstairs and one down as well. Really something to see.

We stopped off here on a tour for lunch. Food was better than I thought but the highlight was the entertaining musicians and singers. They everyone going and it was a blast. Large groups come here but it was fun. A gift shop supplies some funky gift items to bring home.

This is a good restaurant which serves authentic Russian food. It is located in a corner lot and at first glance looks like a theme park. The restaurant itself is like a big log cabin and the interiors are decorated accordingly, with a stuffed bear holding a serving platter with wine bottles and glasses, and other stuffed animals, wood carvings... Located right near the main entrance to the Pavlovsky Park, the place is really popular among tourists, but nevertheless it has managed to keep the good quality of food and amiability of service. Wide selection of Russian dishes, vodkas and other beverages. Everything's well-prepared and well served. The interior inspired by wooden Russian izbas is also very nice and lovely.

The restaurant is between Pavlovsk and Tsarskoe Selo. Inside it is Kitsch. But food is good quality and reliable. Very popular with foreigners and wealthy locals alike. It is better to book a table ahead in high seasons. Degustation menu is good and filling option.
