Located right near the main entrance to the Pavlovsky Park, the place is really popular among tourists, but nevertheless it has managed to keep the good quality of food and amiability of service. Wide selection of Russian dishes, vodkas and other beverages. Everything's well-prepared and well served. The interior inspired by wooden Russian izbas is also very nice and lovely.

The restaurant is between Pavlovsk and Tsarskoe Selo. Inside it is Kitsch. But food is good quality and reliable. Very popular with foreigners and wealthy locals alike. It is better to book a table ahead in high seasons. Degustation menu is good and filling option.

I really liked this place. The atmosphere is light and bright and the live music added to the ambience. The food was great. I love that it is served family style and you get to sample a wide variety of traditional dishes. I thought for years that I didn't like borscht but this restaurant changed my mind. It was great. I think... More

A nice place if you would like to combine some folk entertainment with your meals. Cuisine is great, serve typical Russian food, the quality is superb. Can be recommended for larger groups after a visit to the nearby Catherine Palace as going from St. Petersburg may take long, about 1-1.5 hours by car.

We stopped here with our guide after a day at Catherine's palace. I had the Chicken Kiev and it was delicious. Place was huge as I think a lot of buses stop here. Service was good and I would go back. Not all touristy places serve bad food

My husband and I had lunch here with our tour guide on day one of our two day visit to St. Petersburg. You can tell immediately upon arrival it is touristy but still, it's okay. The food was good. The service was good as well. I had the stroganoff. It was very tasty and quite satisfying after a morning of... More

When you show up, you might initially be worried that you've walked into the biggest tourist trap on Earth as there could well be folklore ensembles, loud music and huge groups of tourists enthusiastically taking photos and taping proceedings on their iPhones. However, this place also got cult status after Vladimir Putin held an event here (and you can even... More

Podvorye is a good stop for a meal for those visiting the palaces of Tsarskoe Selo and/or Pavlovsk. Lots of tour groups stop by but you can get individual tables for four or six. It's built like an old-fashioned wooden dacha and is pure kitsch. Bear in mind that the price includes live entertainment which is fun. The food is... More

Indeed, as a Russian my first impression was a shock: long tables surrounded with noisy tourists, loud life folklore music and tasteless interior aiming to resemble 'native' russian themes... However, as we asked to be seated in a calmer remote corner on the 1st floor the 1st impression deiced somehow. Very good service (although it seems the waiters speak only... More
