A nice place if you would like to combine some folk entertainment with your meals. Cuisine is great, serve typical Russian food, the quality is superb. Can be recommended for larger groups after a visit to the nearby Catherine Palace as going from St. Petersburg may take long, about 1-1.5 hours by car.

We stopped here with our guide after a day at Catherine's palace. I had the Chicken Kiev and it was delicious. Place was huge as I think a lot of buses stop here. Service was good and I would go back. Not all touristy places serve bad food

My husband and I had lunch here with our tour guide on day one of our two day visit to St. Petersburg. You can tell immediately upon arrival it is touristy but still, it's okay. The food was good. The service was good as well. I had the stroganoff. It was very tasty and quite satisfying after a morning of... More

When you show up, you might initially be worried that you've walked into the biggest tourist trap on Earth as there could well be folklore ensembles, loud music and huge groups of tourists enthusiastically taking photos and taping proceedings on their iPhones. However, this place also got cult status after Vladimir Putin held an event here (and you can even... More

Podvorye is a good stop for a meal for those visiting the palaces of Tsarskoe Selo and/or Pavlovsk. Lots of tour groups stop by but you can get individual tables for four or six. It's built like an old-fashioned wooden dacha and is pure kitsch. Bear in mind that the price includes live entertainment which is fun. The food is... More

Indeed, as a Russian my first impression was a shock: long tables surrounded with noisy tourists, loud life folklore music and tasteless interior aiming to resemble 'native' russian themes... However, as we asked to be seated in a calmer remote corner on the 1st floor the 1st impression deiced somehow. Very good service (although it seems the waiters speak only... More

We arrived in this new log cabin restaurant (reminds me of a mock tudor house but built in the 21st century!) and sat down to a five course Russian Lunch. The cuisine was average, the service good and we we were even treated to some Russian Music which was very good and fun! A large bottle of excellent Russian Vodka... More

We went here as part of a guided tour, food was all in. I really enjoyed all of it, there was something for the kids too and they provided some vegetarian dish. It came with good wines. The atmosphere is nice with live music around the tables and some stuffed bears. Not sure if it worth a detour, but worth... More

Stopped by this restaraunt on a trip to see Catherine's Place. Its a huge place and apparenetly very popular with tour operators and it was very croweded. I was at first a bit disenchanted with the place because of that but in the end the food was good, service was decent and the place was clean and organized. Overall a... More

I know Russia can be expensive but the prices at Podvorye were ridiculous. I had much better Russian food in Central Moscow at literally half the price, if you can believe it. President Putin may be able to eat at Podvorye but unless you are an oligarch and money is no object, you can dine on food just as good... More
