We ate breakfast here on our morning run on two mornings. Since it was very early, the cafe was almost empty and we got the best table in the window corner. We just ate croissants so I can't comment on food, but the ambience was wonderful - early 19th century - some of our favorite St Petersburg memories

My God is this place awful. It is supposed to be a wonderful balcony above a main square in the Art Nouveau style. But it is only a poorly run dream of yesterday. And here is 'The ladies who lunch.' of Russia. Unfortunately, cucumber sandwiches are no longer in style. And droves of tourists come here desperate to get a... More

The view from this cafe is wonderful. We only had time for a quick eat until our tour continued. I had the meat dumplings with sour cream and mushrooms. It was a good portion and was delcious. Even if you don't have a chance to eat here, while in Russia you must try the meat dumplings.

great only because it's history great view. I live in St. Petersburg, so I know that there are a million places you could go in the center of st. petersburg with better food and better service. We waited well over ten minutes before we got the attention of our server, and then after we ordered and received our food we... More

This was a great place to eat. We only had coffee and cake, but it was good. It's very busy and as it's on the second floor you get a great view

I had heard about Cafe Singer from a Russian friend in California who had urged us to go. It certainly was well worth it. It is located on the second floor of the Dom Knigi bookstore which is located in a beautiful Art Nouveau building across from Kazan Cathedral. We arrived at 11:30 and were able to secure one of... Follow the staircase against the back wall to the second floor toward the Nevisky side. This nice little cafe is a perfect break point for walking visits to central St Petersburg.

Right in the middle of Nevsky Prospect, here is a cafe on the 1st floor of a book shop with a fantastic view of the street and Kazan Cathedral. It is the perfect location, after visiting the surrounding scene and tired of shopping, to have a cup of tea and some cakes. The atmosphere is good, you can read o... More

If you are traveling on Nevskiy prospect, should take a short break there for cafe with cake or russian pancake with caviar :), the prices are appropriate and the staff are English speaking. But to fully enjoy this place you have to sit near a window with a spectacular view, eaven if you have to wait a bit...inside it's just... More

The ground floor of the historic and very beautiful Singer Building is one of the largest bookstores I have ever seen. Upstairs, on the second level, is the delightful Cafe Singer. Service was outstanding (not the norm for Russian restaurants) and the menu was extensive. It's a very pleasant memory that we now have..sitting at our little corner window table,... More
