we went there on our last day in Saint Petersburg and all dressed up for the event. The restaurant is like an opera house and with its history, it is really worth visiting. We tried the degustation menu and the food was nice but not brilliant, this is probably we set our expectation too high. However, the waiter was a... More

I booked this restaurant from New Zealand hoping for an amazing fiftieth birthday experience for my husband and friends from London and was definitely not disappointed. This was an amazing and totally memorable experience from start to finish. The service was fantastic, the food superb, but particularly, we were impressed with the entertainment and the attention to detail. Perhaps these... More

Went on a Saturday night early September but only 5-6 tables were occupied. Good and attentive service and nice live jazz but no ambience! Strawberry sorbet from chef was too sweet.

We live in St. Pete, and have enjoyed Brunch at the Grand Europe at least once a month. We bring friends, and visitors strong in the knowledge that this brunch is the best bar none! Not Anymore! The price is about 5000 rubles per person. Not cheap, but free flowing Taittinger champagne made it worthwhile. Jump to today, and serving... More

Grand entrance and Interesting dining room but very few tables occupied even on a Saturday night. Good musicians but played tired Sinatra type music. Food unexciting and relatively expensive choice of old favourites.

The decor was great with a piano double base and singer providing background music. This restaurant deserves its high trip advisor rating. I especially enjoyed the opportunity to sample different types if caviar but all the dishes were good.

Wonderful atmosphere. Live music with piano and sax. Had the 3-course price fixe menu, including 3 wine pairings, that actually turned out to be 5 courses. Starter from chef was cup of mushroom soup - yummy! Then the egg with cavier appetizer that we ordered. Followed by cucumber sorbet from chef. We ordered stroganoff. Dessert from tray - layered almond... More

Not cheap, but worth it. They have a great degustation menu with egg in egg, beef stroganoff (the original recipe) and napoleonska cake including wine for approx. EUR 65. Great on Fridays when the have Tchaikowski night especially if you are not going to see a ballet or concert anyway.

Impossible to be in St Petersburg and not going to this famous and traditional hotel to taste the Russian caviar. The service is excelent. Our waiter ( in fact he introduced himself as a vodka sommelier), spoke good English, not so common in Russia, and gave is a lecture on caviar types and matching Russian vodkas. Not cheap at all.... Booked for partners birthday and opted for the Degustation menu. Given the 8 courses (6 are listed but they throw in an Amuse Bouche and Sorbet) it was actually pretty good value and the portions are big. Found the Sommelier and Maitre d' suprisingly affable for such a venue and needless to say spoke perfect English. Lovely Art Noveau decoration... More
