Of course this is not a traditional Russian restaurant, but it gives everyone a great taste of food and culture. It looks more like a small museum with different artefacts from old and Soviet times. There is a live entertainment at nights and one day you may run into Gypsy music, another day - soviet time songs or balalayka. In... More

Our terrible lunch in St Petersburg I had high hopes for our lunch, especially after reading all of the reviews. However, this was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. I don’t mind the slight language barrier when abroad. That is part of the game. However, our waiter was a prime example of an unfriendly staff. He couldn’t get... More

This place is quite out of the centre on the other side of the river, we took taxi there, but walked back from there to W Hotel near St Isaak Cathedral, which was a welcome relief after all that vareniki and other heavy Russian food. It also afforded one of the best views of St Petersburg waterfront and Winter Palace... More

I do not understand how people can say this restaurant is cheap because it is not. I have been to cheaper restaurants in the city which also had larger portions and where in the centre of the city not outside like this one. In this restaurant I had one dish and the portion was small, then a beer and spent... More

We enjoyed a very pleasant meal, in a great little restaurant with amazing interior (maybe kitsch, but who cares when it is this much fun), and really good solid food. The smoked salmon in pine needles was delicious, and both veal dishes were really excellent. And it was all very good value. I wish we had eaten here again instead... More

If you would like to experience good Russian cuisine this is a place to visit. The entourage is nice and the food was good quality. Had several dishes and enjoyed them all. This restaurant is not in the center and the best way to get there is by taxi.

We liked this restaurant very much! The food was great, very typical and unusual (for us) tastes. The decor is striking and you feel transferred in another epoch and culture. The service was kind and attentive. Small language problems were easily solved with lots of gesticulating and smiles at which both Russians and Italians are very good. It was the... More

Saw the reviews here on tripadvisor and decided to go. VERY good food and the place was as mentioned in other reviews rather kitch, but fun to look at also. Service was alright but due to language barriers we got the soup (meant to share as starter) and one main course at the same time. Overall a very nice place... More

This restaurant was perfect. The food was great value for money. Star of the night - veal steak main course with cherry sauce. Every other dish also very well prepared. Our waitress spoke very little English, but was extremely friendly and kept offering vodka throughout, we could have left very drunk.
