We didn't speak a word of Russian but the staff couldn't have been more helpful. There's an English menu which we found useful although the order of the courses was a little odd for us but that was no problem. The locals sometimes pop in for a snack, and we couldn't tell what they were eating, but we eventually got... More

This good place to try vodka, gorilla, nastoyka (home made stuff made by some cranberries or some other berry). You will go with some Ukraine traditional food and this would be good for a company visit. Without drinking it is very average food and not the real restaurant service quality.

Visited this restaurants as it was our first night in Moscow and was close to our hotel. I rang and reserved as I did not know how busy they would be for a Friday night. I thought the restaurant was amazing, the interior was very authentic. There was even live musicians walking around the different areas of the restaurant. The... More

I went there with friends who live in Moscow and love the place. So i might be biased by their own love to the place. But then we met one of their ukrainian friend who goes back there everytime he is in Moscow. The dishes are great and are typical of Ukrainian food. You can get the menu in almost... More

I visited Taras Bulba at least 4 times this August. I always left the restaurant very full and generally very happy. Of the 4 visits, only one could be classed as average or disappointing. I did have same favourites - starting with the spicy carrot salad - which contained copious amounts of garlic and a good dash of chilli pepper,... More

We went there because it was recommended in a dutch guide. It has menu's in almost every language and most of the people working there understand english. The prices of the main courses are reasonable, but they recommended us to try the "traditional Ukranian" apetizers which we gladly accepted. But if we had known the price we should'nt have!!! The... We had an English speaking waiter with English menu, which was good. We ordered one starter and one meal each and except the pancake with red caviar the rest was ok. The bill was a chock as there was far more items than what we ordered. Of course in Russian, so we couldn't chalenge it without an argument. We decided... More

You can easily recognize Korchma Taras Bulba right across the street from Novokuznetskaya Metro Station on the Zamoskvoretskaya line, a few blocks South of the Moscow River. You can recognize it because they always have a colorful doorman in traditional Ukranian garb out in front. This is traditional Ukranian food, and the interior is done up like a country dacha... There is a verandah round the back with some play equipment that you can entertain small kids with whilst you're waiting for food. English menus available, and the food is great (and enormous portions too!).

Went to this place when it was absolutely freezing cold outside in winter of 2013 - was an immediately welcoming and warm atmosphere with great traditional Ukrainian country cooking. I really enjoyed the food had some food combinations I would never have thought could work together and some nice warming Vodka. I highly recommend a trip to this place.
