Nice decor, great borscht!

The soup and breads were good, as were the decorations. The service was fast when we were there around 3 p.m. Cucumber/ tomato/feta salad was tasty.

A person wearing traditional costume standing in front of the restaurant waves us in. We were kind of skeptical when we walked in. On our right is a shelf full of menu translated into different languages, each half an inch thick. Must be a tourist trap, we told ourselves. Too tired to walk elsewhere, we settled down. Waiter hardly speak... More

It looks like a tourist trap, and maybe it is, but it wasn't outrageously priced and I loved the food I got. I also enjoyed their house brewed kvass on tap and the live Ukrainian music.

we ate here yesterday. We were warmly welcome by a colourful typically dressed lady who understood the little russian I speak. We got a table right away. The menu was in french and english and although the translations were a bit strange, we appreciated to have something we could understand. We ordered appetizers, entree and main course but things were... More

Very nice good for a very nice price! Of course, the whole place is very touristy, with the whole folkloristic interior and waiter-costumes and so in, but still, the food was awesome, the service friendly, they were very quick and the place was PACKED. We spent a very nice last evening in moscow there. You should definitely try the Mors... More

It was recommended as a taverna with Russian-Ukranian traditional food, where locals go for dinner. It was true, full of locals. At the entrance we saw the menu translated in so many languages. Impressive, I said. This must attract many tourists. The lady waiter took us to a table, almost running! The decoration was intensive folklore. Well when we opened... More

It helped that we have been wandering round in the late-night, mid-winter Moscow for literally 2 hours trying to get to this place (the whole of the nearby shopping centre was closed off and Moscow doesn't appear to have zebra crossing over main roads...) because the warmth and promise of hearty food endeared us to place before we'd even sat... Apparently a very popular restaurant not just for tourists but also locals. We had the traditional borscht soup, which was very wattery and the meat was veryfatty - the whole soup was absolutely tasteless. We then had a couple of meat and cabbage pies which were quite nice, but nothing special. As a dessert we had the fruit ravioli which... More
