Description: Moscow's First Scandinavian Restaurant Scandinavia restaurant opened its...
Moscow's First Scandinavian Restaurant Scandinavia restaurant opened its doors in 1995 just a stone through away from the city center next to Tverskaya metro station. Long before Scandinavian cuisine turned into a hot trend worldwide, we treated our guests to such mysterious dishes as gravlax and skagen. Both are still on the menu. For many years our goal was to introduce Moscow and its spoiled restaurant goers to finest culinary inventions Scandinavian countries have to offer. Scandinavia restaurant is famous for classic Nordic dishes as well as modern Scandic cuisine with a little Swedish accent. Our restaurant was the first one to bring to Moscow legendary Swedish meatballs with cowberry jam, rist to open a summer caf? and first to serve burgers! Not to mention that we made Muscowites fell in love with herring, aquavit and Swedish Christmas table. Located in the city center, famous Pushkinskaya Ploschad is only 50 meters away, with creative food made following finest European quality standards, English-speaking staff and friendly atmosphere, Scandinavia is a great solution for a business lunch, presentation, business meeting of any level and a celebratory dinner, as well as romantic supper or a party with colleagues.

Good place for a relaxed dinner out

A good place for a laid back dinner out - tasty food (especially the seared tuna), decent wine choice, good atmosphere, excellent beer garden.

as an expat in moscow, i've been going to scandanavia for over a decade. it's been trending down for a while, but a lunch this afternoon was dreadful. my wife's salmon fillet was was old and terribly over-salted, while my hamburger (once a signature dish) had greyish meat of no taste. maybe the sanctions have hit their lines of supply.... The place is close to Pushkin sq. The location is great: 1 minute from the noisy Tverskaya Street in a quiet lane. The place has a yard (with many small simple tables and a bar), an in-side restaurant, a small open terrace and a bigger under-the-roof terraces upstairs. The service is very good. The prices are reasonable (middle range). The... More

Unfortunately I had no luck when I booked my table at Scandinavia restaurant. I wanted to enjoy the terrace on a sunny Moscow day, but exactly on that day the rain was pouring down. But our table was waiting inside on the first floor. We were waiting for a 4th person to arrive and the waitress was a bit nervous.... More

Scandinavia has probably one of the biggest veranda in the center if Moscow. Go there for a beer or a burger is a must. Also the scandinavian cousine is nice. I highly suggest to go there also for a normal dinner, booking a table inside. Enjoy

The place has outside (pretty simple) and inside space. The inside (2nd floor) space has a wonderful balcony, with an open-air and properly inside part. They give you blankets for chilly evenings. The food is good, as well as wines. The service is very good level, too. Prices ate moderate. I do recommend the place for a quite get-together with... More

We went on Friday night. They were only 8 people (all foreigners) so since the place is huge the atmosphere was cold -full up must be very nice-. Service was fast and in perfect English. We ordered a burger (abundant), salmon fillet and creme brulee. All was tasty. It's quite expensive.

Welcoming, pleasant voice upon registration. 2-minute proximity to nearest Metro station. Quiet location off the main road. Hmm, a concierge that doesn't smile, but OK, everyone has a bad day. Friendly waitresses that are not scared to begin with some English language, for once, and no matter what the accent. Comfy and warm atmosphere. Simple, straight-to-the point menu. Delicious dishes.... More

Lovely place, right in the city centre, but off the main road in an absolutely quiet side-street. Lovely terrace to enjoy in summer. Very simple and stylish interior design, Scandinavian style with loft of rustique wood and muted colours. I suppose that it's popular with expats. Great for business meeting, friends' hangout and romantic outing. The menu is concise, but... More
