Discovered this restaurant via multiple sources (including Trip Advisor), and booked dinner on the strength of favourable reviews. We were not disappointed; the food was excellent, service friendly and efficient, and although it is hardly a bargain basement place we didn't think that it was outrageously expensive on the basis of Moscow prices generally. Would definitely revisit, and happy to... More

Dine in a former Russian Palace. Service is patchy but its a great ambiance. Order the Russian Degustation - terrific!

Hi. I'm sorry this is not actually a review but we are hoping to dine here when we visit Moscow next month and I am hoping someone at Cafe Pushkin can please tell me what hours dinner in the library floor is offered? Both start and finish. Also, what hours for breakfast and lunch? It says online you are open... More

Dear Guest, Indeed call from the USA might be a little pricy, but don't hesitate to send me an e-mail in order to see how we can manage a little journey in Cafe Pushkin during your short 20hours in Moscow. I have double checked with our maintenance department regarding the phone lines, they are all working fine, might have been... More

The Café Puschkin looks old and ancient, but actually it was built after the USSR collapsed. When walking in to the Café, you instantly feel like the walls are telling stories of what this place has all seen. There are thousands of old books in bookshelves all around the place. Food was good, but pricey. Although it isn't as old... More

We saved some money so that we could experience some finer dining in Moscow at Cafe Pushkin (mainly because of its historical significance). The decor inside is beautiful and olden with plenty of wood (and historical items on the bar!), and our waiter was dressed finely. He introduced himself personally and was extremely attentive. We were expecting the menu to... More

The first impact is with the magnificent wooden panels and the library, then an impeccable waiter will take you to the table. Try to reserve a table on the upper floor near the library. Take as a starter olivier salad with shrimps then if you are not familiar with russian cuisine, the russki degustation: pelmeni, blinis, stroganoff, chicken Kiev; or... More

Despite the good reviews, I was expecting a tourist trap. Even though this restaurant is very young, the food, atmosphere and total experience all exceeded expectations. What a wonderful place. I had the borsch and entrée sampler (Russian Degustation), while my wife had the sautéed quail breast. We ate here the first night and were spoiled for the rest of... More

The location in an old townhouse is very charming. The waiters are dressed up in vintage suits and the rooms are kept in a deliberate low light atmosphere. All contributes to make the venue very special. The food selection is very rich and diverse. All dishes are of great quality. The wine list is OK, even if the wines are... More

Good for romantic or other special occasions, business meetings or introducing your foreign friends to the extinct species of traditional Russian cuisine - those served in the best homes of 19th century. Dress code applies, though take the posh atmosphere easy. Nice terrace, but make sure to book in advance. For truly impressive interior visit the next door Turandot.

Very good place but quite expensive. If You want to GO back to old imperial Russia this is the right place. Perfect service. Downstairs a little cheaper. Try hazelnut cake: supreme !! But very EXPENSIVE !!
