Great view, nice food, acceptable service

One of the best views of Moscow from the open terrace. A little bit pricier than it's food and service implies, but not bad. Food was nice and wealthy, but did not taste exceptional. Staff was attentive and friendly, but some minor issues were still there - e.g. had to wait for the main course for... read more

Karlson is a restaurant named after a famous book Karlson on the roof by Astrig Lindgren. The restaurant is on the top floor of the building with beautiful views, sunset and veranda… where you can enjoy drinks before dinner or the whole dinner during summer months. The restaurant is very large and has an open cooking bar in the middle... More

I wasn't paying but my friend and local entrepreneur chose this restaurant for a summer evening meal in Moscow. It feels like a giant conservatory but there are plenty of seats outside as well as in. It was very busy so book in advance but it did not feel crowded and the service managed to keep up. Our food and... More

It's worth coming here for the views alone but food was a little hit and miss. Whilst it tasted fine the portions felt pretty small and many of the group came away still feeling hungry. Having said that the service was both efficient and fast (something we don't seem to have seen in many other restaurants in Moscow). We were... More

I came in my last night of Moscow and exceeded all expectations. The sea bass, the green fetucini and the black spaghetti with crab meat were excellent. This is the perfect good bye last seen. Ask for a table on the terrace. The view could not be better anywhere in world.

Karlson, is one of the best place where you can spend at least few hours. During the summer you can book a table outside, enjoying one of the best views on Moscow. Just one thing is better than the view: the food prepared by Giacomo Lombardi, one of the best Chef in town. You can also decide to have an... More

I have been to this place with our business partners for dinner. The restaurant is nice, but food is just ordinary.

patchy service and unimpressive food, expensive wine list if stripped of the summer terrace, it poses no interest whatsoever, but it's definitely worth visiting in one of the quiet and mild August evenings, when a good half of the moscovites have left for a vacation, and you own a perfect city view a little more to yourself. Very romantic and... More

Staying in Zamoskvorechye

Neighborhood Profile
Zamoskvorechye
It wouldn’t be a mistake to call Pyatnitskaya street the main axis of this neighborhood – turn one direction and you’ll find the Tretyakov Gallery in Lavrushinsky Lane, turn another – a hip Scandinavian restaurant. Old churches now embrace contemporary life with style and grace. Going to Zamoskvorechye is like visiting during the times when it was a medieval Russian quarter, but with a modern twist of 20th century buildings pushing themselves into the 21st century with new businesses opening weekly. Stroll down Pyatnitskaya to taste dozens of global cuisines – from Ukrainian and Georgian to Thai and American.
