Vanil is status. Personalities of the owners, Arkady Novikov, Stepan Mikhalkov, Fedor Bondarchuk, a famous Russian director, interior from a famous architect Juri Andreev, the view from the window, altogether creates the atmosphere of the restaurant, which is the atmosphere of success. It was not without reason that right from the beginning the restaurant won the popularity of a mature successful audience. Furthermore, saying “Vanil” we mean Bohemia, secular audience, elite. The movie about a beautiful life. This is the right place to partake in a feeling of belonging to this state of mind. Everything stars from the interior. Juri Andreev in one his interviews says: "The space of the restaurant is universal. In the interior as to the form, untroubled by any pronounced history, you can put any desired content. The interior is fashionable without any intellectualizing. It's a loft studio. This is one integrated area, of inward and outward openness. It's decorations of a modern play”. “Vanil” is current. A place solely for successful people. And the loser should be left in tears: this city doesn't believe in tears, it believes in success. Restaurant “Vanil” opened July 5, 2001.

Attractive restaurant close to Cathedral of Christ the Saviour

Quality, service and prices are of high level, we found them adequate to the siting for a coffee, cappuccino and tea in Sunday afternoon.. Worth if you're looking for a classy place or you're on business trip. The scenery excellent , with the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in front of it.

Highly recommended: Relaxed atmosphere. Adequate clientele. Excellent service! Two waiters were constantly watching the table. Well-designed menu. I went on the patio to make a phone call – gorgeous. Reasonable prices.

My wife & I visited this restaurant with 2 friends in March 2014 we had looked at the menu & wine list before our visit. The food seemed very reasonably priced for such an exalted establishment ( Hg2 has it as the 3rd. best in Moscow) the wine, as with all wine in Russia, was expensive the cheapest being a... More

This place has it all: excellent location, perfect interior, wonderul service, exquisite fusion cuisine & impressive wine list. One of the best places in Moscow, which I highly recommend. Beware that prices are rather high.

Very nice atmosphere, comfortable furniture and beautiful view of Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The food was absolutely delicious, our waitress spoke very decent English and was checking on us constantly. The menu was pricey but not overly so, the quality of the food and service definitely justify it. We left quite happy.

We sat on the terrace overlooking the Christ the Saviour Cathedral, which was a great table. The menu was very extensive, but I stuck to the Asian food which was cooked to perfection. Perfectly spiced squid and soft, moist sea bass. Very good. The only negative was that the services was so slow. There were plenty of waiters around, but... More

Very nice and central restaurant. Quality, service and prices are of high level, but I found them adequate to the setting. Worth if you're looking for a classy place or you're on business trip. The scenery, with the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in front of it, is undoubtedly a pro.

My old friend took be to this restaurant on Monday night, because it was close to his work. The restaurant owner is apparently Feodor Bondarchuk, the son of the world famous director of War&Piece. We have ordered too many appetizers and never made it to their famous pea soup or entries. Vodka Beluga was nice and cold. The choice of... More
