Quirky down home delight

I was taken here aft a week of high end Mosovite restaurants. Celebrating its 25th year U Pirosmani was a real treat, from its down home exterior and quirky interior, to the extreme,y warm welcome. Sadly the English translations of the menu were not hugely descriptive to allow me to really pick... read more

I love this restaurant and try to visit at least once every time I am in Moscow. Georgian food is brilliant and the view of Novodevichy Monastery is beautiful. To Americans accustomed to paying dearly for a fine meal, the check will be a pleasant surprise. Like most things in Moscow today, good restaurants are cheap despite their continued good... More

Very nice place, when the food was served it was generally of a very high standard with some excellent sauces. I would go as far as saying that some of the dishes were worthy of a higher starred restaurant. The only negative was a walnut dish was a little tough. I recommend all of you this restaurant

I will never recommend this restaurant to friends. I was heard that this restaurant was good one time. However, old georgian men serving there are very unpleasant and even rude. If you order something they always ask me again as they are laughing at us. Also, old waiters always tried to make us order something expensive. Terrible experience I got... More

We decided to have dinner there because my travel guide and some friends advised it. Very much disappointing experience! Later, we found out they had been there a couple of years ago... so, maybe something must have changed in the kitchen! Nice restaurant, nice view on the Novodevichy Convent (if lucky to get one of the few tables on that... More

U Pirosmani is one of the first private restaurants opened in Moscow at the end of the Soviet time. At nineties most of the high ranked person in trip to Moscow, including foreign presidents, prime ministers, singers etc visited this restaurant. The food quality is excellent, as well as the inside atmosphere.

Nice, old-style unusual interior, sort of has the feel of eating in a nice, old house. It has a good view of the Novodevichy Monastery. Like many Georgian restaurants, there seems to be a lot of friends and family milling about. Someone was dining with their large dog who walked around greeting other customers. Also like many Georgian restaurants in... More

We were at the lake, watching the Novodevichi Convent and it started to rain very hard. U Pirosmani was the only shelter. We ran inside without even looking at what for a place it was. Once inside it was clear, a Georgian restaurant. The decoration was very Georgian, not kitsch but actually very cosy and welcoming. The waiter was very... More

The bread with cheese is worth the visit. One of the oldest private restaurant in Moscow, visited by many Intl celebrities. The view is excellent in a relatively quiet area of Moscow. Parking could be a pain though.

Georgian food and peaceful atmosphere for quiet talk and a nice break in the busy downtown life. Waiters are proud of themselves as all Georgian people but welcoming and friendly. Tasty Georgian bread Khachapuri, homemade national sweats and cakes. But you can order Ukrainian borscht as well.
