Description: Maya was created to be a casual restaurant and tequila lounge: laid back and subtle, with efficient service and reasonably priced. The sophisticated yet casual allure of Maya seamlessly blends old world charm with modern elegance. Succulent aromas from the kitchen mix tradition and ingenuity while setting the stage for your dining pleasure. Maya also has the largest selection of 100% pure agave tequilas in the country, which in addition to our premium house pours are sure to charm.Maya is committed to the timeless tradition of Mexican food – utilizing countless ingredients and dishes, and perhaps most importantly, the rich family tradition of preparation, which is done by hand using the freshest local ingredients that are regionally available. By embracing both Mexican tradition and local sensibility, we offer a creatively classic cuisine that unites well-known Mexican street food from the stalls of Mexico City and family dishes from the coast of the Mayan Riviera and the inventiveness of the Hispanic American communities of California and the American Southwest.

For the longest time we waited for a good Mexican place in Cebu, and finally it arrived with Maya. Given that it was founded by the Abaca group, expectations were high and they were fully met. The menu is extensive and the selection of tequila is like nothing I have ever seen. I especially love the tacos, and the guacamole... More

Was here summer of last year when the food and place was superb; went back and it was meh already. The tacos used to be my favorite but now those tacos taste different. Not really Mexican-like rather Filipino-infused-Mexican cuisine. I can excuse the 'butler' service as we went there during dinner rush but then unlike the other Abaca resto, Maya... More

Disclaimer: This is from the perspective of a Peace Corps volunteer. Most of us hadn't had Mexican food in 6 months. So the food was delicious! Service was excellent to a fault. They mad sure we had refills on everything but would clear away utensils and plates before we were done with our meals. You will be walking out paying... More

Casa Maya was selected by my eldest son to be the dinner venue of the birthday celebration of my son and our wedding anniversary. A party of eight we went to the restaurant at half past 7 and seated ourselves in a seemingly private area since it had divisions on both sides. The menu presented a wide array of Mexican... More

I'm an American, living in the Philippines for the last 8 years. I love Mexican food and have struggled to find good Mexican fare anywhere in the islands. Friends highly recommended Maya. I was a little skeptical. My friends are Indian and Filipino - would they have the same tastebuds as this Midwestern farm girl? Have to say I loved... More

Dec. 22, 2014 After a full day of Christmas shopping it was time for dinner, one of my favorite places in Cebu is Maya's the service as well as the food is over the top. My wife, daughter, son in law and myself shared ceviche, chorizo quesadilla, fajitas and tacos, all was perfect. They did not have michaladas on the... More

We have visited this restaurant many, many times over the past few years and have always enjoyed very tasty and well prepared food with informed caring service. Standout dishes are Pesci Vera Cruz, Empanadas and the Pork Carnitas. The tequila selection would be second to none in Asia and there is a short but good wine list. As for cost you... More

Generally I love Mexican fare and though I would try Maya since all the other Abaca affiliated restos are wonderful. Truly I was disappointed with the food. It was not horrible, I felt the marinated pork taco's (fri & sat only) was quite nice, the salad was decent, fish taco was so so..fairly bland actually. They server mentioned that they... More

Tired of restaurants here wanting it both ways meaning they want to lure in westerners with the idea of getting a taste of something back home but are afraid to go all into give a more authentic flavor fearing that locals (and maybe other Asians) will not like REAL Mexican tastes. Mexican food thrives on several spices those being CILANTRO... More
