The first time i tried ilocos empanada was decades ago. It was brought by my dad when he went home to his hometown, Ilocos Sur. While it is a bit stale because of the travel time it took, the crispiness of the crust was gone but the taste of the longanisa filling and mongo sprots and other... read more

Some eons ago, my curiosity was poked by that orange, half-moon shaped Ilocano delicacy called empanada. Fast forward to fairly recent times, I had the chance to taste empanada in that open air food fair at Pioneer called Banchetto. I excitedly opened the wrapper for my curiosity will finally be satiated. First bite was love, the second one a sinful... More

Ilocano food outlets in the Metro Manila area are only a few. Not so long time before, in order to enjoy authentic, fresh and quality Ilocano cuisine, one must travel around 9 hours to Laoag City in Ilocos Norte, the heart of Ilocano culinary delights. Recently, there was a boom in Filipino regional cuisines like those of Kapampangan, Cebuano, Ilonggo, Bicolano... More

Their Empanada is too oily and it is not crunchy. I did not enjoy their empanada at all and the taste is far from the other Ilocos empanadas I have tasted. Their ilocos vinegar was great though. Nothing special here and their empanadas are smaller than the others. I hope they would improve the taste of their products.

Ferinos is a great Ilocos Empanada brand. What makes them different aside from the orange empanada color is that their empanadas are stuffed with unripe papaya and monggo sprouts. So their plain empanadas are great for vegetarians. What I love most is their special empanadas since they have a sausage and egg added in there and when eaten it tastes... More

When I first visited this branch, I was quite surprised with the prices of their food. However, thinking that it was because of how it is cooked, and knowing that Ilocos food is one of the best, then price should not be a problem. I bought empanada on my first visit (it was not good but it was not bad... More

We visited this place, not satisfied and disappointed. I tried their empanada, it was greasy and taste of an old oil. Perhaps its the oil they are using cause everything else taste almost the same. It's worth taking a trip to Batac, Ilocos Norte. Try Bernadette's or Beth empanada besides the plaza stadium (well thats where it was). Make sure... More

Last Night,My Family and I took a "selfie at Farinas Ilocos Empanada at Kalyaan Ave. and when we reviewed the photo we saw a translucent ghost at the back. But that is not why i'm here when I tasted your "EMPANADAS" it tasted like old oil, it was VERY GREASY, I don;t mean to BUTCHER the name of the place... More

Earlier today, August 25, 2013, Sunday, I had lunch with my family at Emapanada Nation Sgt. Esguerra Avenue, Quezon City. I heard that their Ilocos empanada are to die for, so I tried it. It would also be an opportunity for me to review two (2) competing restaurants serving the same product. The place was ok although there are no... More

my first taste of an authentic ilocos empanada was on a trip with the rest of the family to Ilocandia many summers ago. We've learned that there are several variants of empanadas in ilocos but what we were able to sample was the vigan variant. My wife and I enjoyed it immensely that we were having cravings for it months... More
