Cheap food but tasty. We ordered rosu katsu and it was as tasty as ever. I also love the fruits that came with it.
Looks like everyone had tried Yabu except me! Ive always wanted to try this place. But when i try new places, im a bit demanding. I want good ambience, and maybe something really unique. Found it all here in yabu. There's a ritual to eating (grinding the sesame seeds and mixing it with generous dollops of their special sauce...)...I makes... More
They're offering Katsu. It's the house of katsu anyway. So, I can deep-fry my own oily goodness right at home, but what makes this place special, for me, is the tenderness of their meat, I don't eat beef. Chicken is my choice of meat and then white-meat fish, and then Pork. They were so tender, I could cut them with... More
I had fun doing the sesame grinding before eating - its aroma seems to boost my appetite. They have very courteous and attentive staff plus the food is superb with large servings - really worth our money. Oh and by the way, the unlimited serving of sliced cabbage is nice alternative to rice if you're on a tight diet.
Have eaten here several times already, often with Japanese guests, most of them say that Yabu is the closest here to the ones they have in Japan. Well though I have been to Japan so many times, it was interesting to note that the first time I have actually done "Goma Suri" Sesame seed grinding... was in Yabu. This means... More
Their food and service is excellent specially the manager. During my last visit, there was an incident with a family who had a baby with them. When their food was served, the mom started panicking because the baby was turning blue. Apparently, he was having a convulsion. Family quickly gathered their things to take the baby to the hospital. The... More
My partner has been wanting to try Yabu for the longest time, and finally I gave in last week. After hearing mass, we went to the 2nd floor of SM Megamall - Atrium and finally found the restaurant. How would I describe the restaurant? At first glance, it looked like a Japanese Restaurant taken out from a 5-star class. The... More
I've only eaten at 2 restos with Katsu as their specialty (Yabu and Saboten) and the key factor for me was the customer service. All the servers that I had encounters with were knowledgable about their product. Very aware when the refillable portions of the meal were running out and politely asks if they can refill them consistently. During peak... More
Tried the Menchi Katsu Set P370, and fell in love with the unlimited Cabbage + the GOMA Sesame Dressing. I can eat that all day everyday. Finished my Katsu, 2x brown rice, 3x cabbage, 2x miso soup. Service (tried to remind them twice or thrice for the refills) can be improved but most of the servers were all wearing a... More
I'm really not a Tonkatsu fan. In fact that's the last thing I order when in a Japanese resto. But Yabu turned my taste buds around for providing a very warm, gorgeous serving of tenderest Katsu meal I've ever had here in Manila. It's cooked to perfection (not just heated). The variations of Katsus are distinct from each other. The... More
