I love eating Japanese and I have had a lot of tonkatsu in regular food chains around the Philippines. At first, I was wondering what the fuzz is all about why this restaurant was always full and had a long wait-list. We checked their prices and it was a bit expensive for me, ranging from P300+ to P500+. After some... More

Always a favourite. I may have had *better* katsus but Yabu never fails to instantly satisfy my katsu cravings even when im not exactly rolling in money. (LOL). Affordable food and great service - always. Even in other branches (SM Magnolia, ATC) the service is superb. Dont go here during lunch and dinner time because the lines are super long.

They say it's overrated. We disagree. Yabu is definitely and by far, one of the best Katsu restaurants in the Metro. The line was long but since there's two of us, it didn't take a while until we were seated. And yes, true to its reputation, the food was great. I ordered the Hire and it was soft and tender.... Yabu has a good selection of Japanese meals, with unlimited salad and rice. We can also get to prepare our own dip / sauce the way we want it. They even offer brown rice, though it's not available. Their meals are even affordable. My son loves Japanese food and yes, we love eating at Yabu in SM Megamall.

I love Tonkatsu, this is my favorite at the moment. Today I tried Hire Curry. It has a huge pile of rice bathing in curry sauce and nice chunk of Hire meat in it. My only problem is that its not as "hot" as I wish, I want to feel the taste of chile burning in my mouth. I wish... More

One of my favorite restaurants because of its delicious kastu and miso soup. I like the variety of dressings for the cabbage and how the rice was cooked perfectly. Staffs are nice and attentive.

Simply great food. The place serves more like complete set menus but it doesn't disappoint, plus you can re-order (no extra charge) the salad, miso soup, rice (they even serve organic brown rice) and dessert (fruit of the day). It's quite filling but you won't get overstuffed. I recommend coming early as it fills up fast.

Best katsu place full stop. It's more than a restaurant, it's an experience. Having said that, why did I give average rating? I'm not a katsu person, I'm not a fried pork kind of girl. But I have to give credit where it's due. Too pricey for me, but you can taste quality ingredients in your plate.

This is our 2nd visit in the same branch (SM Mega Mall) Food selections are adequate in its class. Variety of Dips and sauces - enhances the taste on whatever food you ordered. Refillable food items such as salad, soup and steamed rice, fruit desserts etc will surely guarantee that you leave the place "full" and have enjoyed your meal.

There are a lot of Japanese katsu restaurants in Manila, but many would defeat the quality of their food items with rancid tasting oil, thicker breading than meat, awful customer service, or lacking in taste. Yabu maintains the high quality of their food, while the training and the attitude of the staff are amazing. My favorite branch is the one... More
