There are a lot of Japanese katsu restaurants in Manila, but many would defeat the quality of their food items with rancid tasting oil, thicker breading than meat, awful customer service, or lacking in taste. Yabu maintains the high quality of their food, while the training and the attitude of the staff are amazing. My favorite branch is the one... More

Service at Yabu in SM Mega Mall is truly superb. Fast, efficient and friendly. It's hard to get a table during weekend lunch and dinner time but they always have a staff who handles the wait list and reception area. Their Katsu set is definitely my comfort food.

At first, I thought that these kinds of restos are very expensive. But when I tried it first with a friend, both of us were first timers here in Yabu, I didn't regret trying it. Apart from the katsu, all others are unlimited (when you order the meal), all you can eat rice (perfectly cooked and really matched with the... More

It was a toss up between a Ramen place or Yabu for our weekend family lunch. We decided to go to Yabu as there seemed to be more variety on the menu. It was odd to not have many options for sushi on the menu. But there were several different choices of set katsu meals. Most of the set meals... More

I've dropped in to the Mega Mall branch of this outlet many times for lunch and it's always been consistently good food and service. The only deviation was when I visited a week or so ago and our order was quite clearly forgotten! We waited for about 20 minutes - most unusual for Yabu - and we observed diners who... More

After eating at two katsu restaurants in two succeeding Sundays, we decided to cap our katsu trilogy with Yabu. This is a review of thier Glorietta 5 branch in makati city. We decided to have our dinner much as the last two katsu resto outings. We were at the door around quarter to 7pm. Place was packed. Luckily we were... More

Yabu, if I am not mistaken, is one of the first katsu restaurants which offered unlimited cabbage and rice in the Philippines. Over the years, it has not lost its charm despite the emergence of other katsu restaurants with the same offerings. I've tried their Kurobota, their Rosu, their Chicken and the Seafood Katsu set. All I can say is... More

This is one of our favorite Japanese restaurants whenever we crave for Katsu, and have a big appetite. Our favorites are the traditional Pork Katsu set and the Oroshi Katsu Set (Pork Katsu topped with grated radish and spring onions). Since we are not a fan of fat, we usually go for the Hire sets. But you like trimmings of... More

This was the 1st place I ate at when i went to Phil. I ordered Kurobuta ( they said is was the filet mignon of pork ) and Emie had the pork curry. The food was good ( although i didn;t think the pork lived up to the billing ) and each came with unlimited japanese rice, miso soup, japanese... More

My Yabu experience at SM Megamall was awesome. The food was great both in presentation and taste but I've noticed that the reception area was always empty. My boyfriend and I even just went straight inside the place without a receptionist assisting us. I also saw some of the customers who just took and find their own seats because a... More
