Good Food and Great Introduction to Filipino Food

Fely J's (is related to Abé's) has good food and is a great introduction to Filipino cuisine. It has an extensive menu (with pictures) and is a safe place to try and enjoy upscale Filipino dishes.

My family has visited the Philippines twice over the last 10 months and both times we went to Fely J's. In one trip, we even ate there twice... going back the following day! Food is really delicious. And even though we're not very familiar with the dishes in the menu, chances are that it's still good and very tasty. Truly... More

I've been going to this restaurant for years. It's a great source of Pinoy comfort food for those nights when you're in a mood and you just really really want a crispy pata and you don't want to risk getting a bad one? Their ginataang gulay is the perfect partner to the pata. Alternatively you can have the sisig which... More

Fely J's in Greenbelt 5 is promising, they have good food but their service was reaaaally slow. Took them around 20-30 minutes to prepare our table for 15 persons even though we had an advance reservation.

The hotel recommended Fely J's as a good place to go for some authentic filipino food. We relied on the waitress to recommend what we should eat. We took just about all her recommendations and after we completely stuffed ourselves we still had a mountain of leftovers. I guess we don't eat a lot compared to filipinos or they thought... More

This place promises more than it delivers. You expect tasty home style Filipino food and what you get is low quality food cooked in an amateurish way. I am sure that locals will be happy there but I do not think sophisticated travelers will be enthused at all.

This is one of the restaurants owned by Larry Cruz's LJC company and is named after his mother. Most of the items on the menu are from family recipes, food that the matron of the clan lovingly cooked for her husband and children and guests. Since they are from Pampanga, several dishes are traditional and authentic to the province. I... More

We started the evening with some appetizers - calamari, paco salad (paco is a type of fern with shrimp and salted duck egg), vietnamese spring rolls. Best of these was the salad with the calamari a close second. Mains were adobo (made with beef ribs), crispy pork hock deep fried with garlic, Hianese chicken with steamed rice, fried rice with...
