Izakaya kikufuji is simply the best affordable authentic Japanese restaurant in Manila. It's basic Japanese food. None of the fancy fusion stuff. You can get the same quality at other Japanese restaurants but you have to pay twice or thrice the price that you pay for in Kikufuji!

Whenever I have a deep craving for Japanese food, I go to Kikufuji to satisfy it. I like the convenience of being able to order per piece/stick for their grilled menu so that I am able to try many different items and not be stuck with just one thing. I recommend the wagyu. For those who enjoy sushi and sashimi,... More

There are many great Japanese restaurants in Manila but this is one of my ultimate favorites. Very authentic taste and vibe. The service isn't that great, the ambience isn't zen luxe, but the food is great. I come for Mauro daikon at lunchtime. At lunch they also have bento boxes that are affordable; as you know dinner time at a... More

My sister and her son who are Japanese food lovers invited me to this place to try out their food. I love this restaurant! The food is authentic Japanese, prices are so cheap! A stick of wagyu beef cubes barbecue is prices at only P125.00. Salmon sashimi portions (6 pieces to an order) are generous and salmon quality is very... More

I always look forward going to this place because the food is delicious. We ordered the sukiyaki, salmon fish head, spicy tuna sashimi, katsudon and donburi. Everything was superb. I especially love the don buri because it doens't skimp on ingredients. You get what you pay for and it shows in the portions and quality. Price isn't expensive considering the... More

I am not a huge fan of California rolls, but as we had just had a less-than-filling dinner at a nearby Japanese Kobe restaurant, we stopped in. I was not impressed, but the place was packed. My dining companion seemed to be well-known to the staff, and he ordered Gyu Kuchi and the Special Maki Roll (I think that was... More

My Chinese friends and I decided to celebrate February 19, 2015 by having lunch to welcome the Year of the Wooded Sheep. Enroute, we discussed what cuisine do we want to eat?? .Chinese? Japanese? Korean ? or Filipino? One suggested why not Kikufuji. We never heard of the restaurant and had not at all eaten there. The other friend said... More

You have to try their Gyu Kushi, skewered beef cubes! And their grilled Gindara fish in teriyaki sauce. They have the freshest sashimi. Plus excellent service. You have to book in advance when you plan to eat there.
