Cafe by the Ruins focuses on few offerings but with sophisticated preparations. Its best sellers are bagnet with fish sauce, and curry. The place doesnt have much offerings for desserts when we were there because its not peak season. Its a bit pricey however the quality and quantity of food is worth sharing. I would recommend the place for dinner... More

Cafe by the Ruins is pure and unadulterated love. From the outside, it's nothing to write home about, but when you step inside that's where the magic starts. It didn't disappoint one bit. Well, except for the noise outside since it's located along the street and the only thing that separates you from the street is a bamboo fence. But... More

This is supposed to be one of the top restaurants in Baguio. The food was pretty decent. A tad overpriced perhaps but not terribly so. Service, however, is not fit for the place claiming to be Baguio's culinary forefront. Staff is young and a bit slow to get attention of. Also, for some reason, they don't serve beer, so if... More

We had diner at Cafe by the ruins two times, because we loved it so much. The menu changes regularly and everything is in season. Only local produce. The food is a haute cuisine adoptation of Philipino food. The desserts and especially the coffee is to die for. And don't forget to buy muscovado sugar for back home. :-)

Built on the ruins of a building, this restaurant offers Filipino and European dishes as well as a variety of coffees and teas.

The old time favorites still beckon at this unassuming place run by a family of art enthusiasts and their artist friends. The prices have gone up but the quality remains. The beauty about the place is that the older and more run down it gets, the more welcoming it transforms. Shabby chic comes to mind. Try their gado gado, local... More

They have freshly baked bread here and offer quality, good tasting foods. Tea is also specular served in a rustic tea kettle. Must visit except that it is usually crowded...

For first time visitors to Baguio, with young children, this cafe was not the ideal spot for an afternoon snack. Yes, it is walking distance from Burnham Park unless you are tired or with very young children. There is a waiting list for tables, which was not so bad. The venue is a little cramped for my liking and you... More

Aside from the "Ruins" part of its name, it was the menu which got us interested. The items are not in their usual names because of the "twist" or personal touches that the restaurant put in each. And the food was good. We were with relatives from abroad, and we all had a fine and fun dinner.

Last April, when we were in Baguio, we grabbed the opportunity to walk whenever and where ever possible. The cool breeze made it enjoyable to stroll around. After hearing mass, we decided to walk along Session Road to enjoy the sight. After a long walk, a restful break was needed. Good thing Cafe by the Ruins was just a few... More
