I am slighlty surprised to see some negative reviews. True the place is not a gourmet restaurant. And not the cheap 4$ backpacker resto. Also the ambience is not for wedding anniversary :) Still there was a very very cosy feeling with the owner, and we tried 4-5 different plates with we found very tasty and quite creative. From the... Good location on the second floor along a pedestrian road; therefore not as noisy nor as "polluted" as to dining next to streets with vehicle traffic. Good, generous food for value. We had lunch during a weekday and clientele was mostly local business people. The waiter was efficient, friendly and patient with our limited Spanish.

Nice location on a side street on a second floor. My girlfriend's choice was excellent, a generous portion of avocado with vegetables. Very tasty. I ordered a club sandwich. 5 slices of bread with butter or mayo on the toasted bread. Way too dry even though I removed a slice of bread. Pretty cheap though and good vegetarian choices.

This place wouldn't be worthwhile even if it was half the price. They didn't have half the drinks we tried to order off the menu. Needs a lot of improvement in quality of food, service and general atmosphere. Don't go here if you don't like wasting money.

We ate here early one evening after a chilly journey back from the Uros, following a recommendation in the Lonely Planet. We were surprised to find there was only one other couple dining although it did fill up a bit later. We had huge omelettes and veggie lasagnes, which were very fresh and filling, along with beers and lemonade in... More

We tried this place based on positive reviews by Lonely Planet and our tour company. It was our worst meal in Peru. The starter was stuffed pepper but they seem to have used a chilli pepper as it was inedibly hot. The main course was Lomo soltada which was tough but otherwise acceptable. We asked for white wine and got... More

I couldn't find my first two dining choices. So came here as I'd noticed it across from our dinner place last night (Lago de Flores). The lack of business should've been a hint right off the bat. Ordered limonada (s3), chicken soup (s12), ravioli (s22), Hawaiian pizza (s12.50). There were pieces of ravioli that weren't too well cooked. The cream... More

I had a stuffed avocado to start and then the famed Aji de Gallina. Both unfortunately were pretty flavourless and very mushy! The Aji in particular didn't taste of anything at all. Maybe the chef was having an off day but I would not recommend the food here at all. The Pisco Sour and the setting were lovely though! And... More

I went there following the suggestion of a famous tour book, but I was pretty much disillusioned about it. The restaurant is not far from Plaza de Armas and it offers all the typical Peruvian food, some can consider it the usual tourist trap. We ordered the famous Aji de Gallina, which was probably prepared in the best way, even... More

Puno has a handful of nice places to eat. Thus, forget Ukuku's. The dining hall is fine, but unfortunately, that's the best you can get from Ukuku's. The service is unkind (we had the impression they wanted us to leave as soon as possible), the drinkings (lemonade and apple juice were far below average) and the food is bad (my... More
