Fun place on the water. There are no facilities to hang out on the beach. The food is very good and the service was wonderful. The did not accept credit cards the day we were there. No signs saying cash only. The French fries with gravy and cheese are superb. Prices are fair.

Sadly this place does a dismal job of representing either Canada or Panama. Based on our recent 'Canada Day' experience we suggest giving it a wide berth. If you do find yourself there, avoid the cocktails, skip the ceviche and check your bill carefully. Our margarita and daiquiri were watery and pale impersonations of the real thing made with a... It is nice to see all the Canadian hockey and baseball sweaters hanging...the place is OK...and a few stray dogs laying around but that didn't bother us....beer was cold and the fries were good...had heard so much about it...apparently the owner had passed away in the fall so it looked a little rundown.

This small yet friendly place was the highlight of our nights out. It was a very warm and enjoyable place right on the beach. Worth checking out.

Your photo of Woody's is an old one. They rebuilt the bar next door to this one, because of sea damage. Woody's is a small slice of Canadiana in Panama. Go there when you want to get away from the Panamanian grub and have the urge for a cold beer, cheeseburger or poutine or chicken wings. The Canadian hockey atmosphere... More

Take a walk down the beach to Woody's and have a great burger and a COLD Coors Light...:-) Nice to see a lot of Canadians supporting this bar. Would certainly go back again.

An excellent off the resort restaurant and bar! Some reviews of this place are bad because it is aimed at a Canadian travelers. Its is Canadian owned so guess that is why the bad reviews -- mainly from Americans. Worth going to a least once while you are there!!

The decor is a fun Canadian sports bar motif, especially promising during the NHL playoffs but the food was extremely disappointing. They prominently advertise the poutine but at $6 you get a basket of soggy, undercooked frozen fries. The cheese curds were decent but the basket overall was just not worth it. The salad was worse - scraps of iceberg... More

The staff is not honest (our bill was way overpriced) and the service is super slow. The owner is wasted and if you are not Canadian, beware. Other than that, the beach is not clean, the food is an overpriced so-so. Stick with the resorts or go to Pipas or La Fogata where you get what you pay for.

Woody's is the only place for miles around that carries all the hockey games - tonight Game 7 Habs and Boston - the place will be packed - local Canadians who live here (like us) and visiting Canuks from the resorts. Wings, Burgers, poutine (the real McCoy) and seafood are all really good - cold Balboa beer (most like a... More
