Astoria is amazingly easy to get to from Manhattan. From midtown it takes about 15 minutes to the Broadway station on the N train and the restaurant is 1/2 block away. From there it is a Greek feast extraordinaire. From the mixed mezes, to the fried Saganaki cheese, the grilled squid (arguably) the best in town, the spanakopita, and the... More

I came here with a group of friends for a birthday celebration. The service was average - not bad, but nothing special. Prices were reasonable - $135 for 4 people with no alcohol. Everyone was pretty stuffed at the end. We tried the spread platter (all tasty, served with pita), swordfish, grilled shrimp (butterflied with the shell on), lamb stew... More

I'm not the biggest fan of greek food, but being in Astoria we had to try some. Bahari was a lovely experience! The wait staff was just attentive enough to be helpful, but not overbearing. The food was excellent and fresh. I had the salmon steak- absolutely wonderful and sooooo much food! Would love to return ready to eat a... More

This restaurant has a very small street "footprint" - it almost looks like a small takeaway joint (with the kitchen visible through a window on the street), but you walk in you pass the kitchen and enter a very pleasant and quite large sit-down restaurant. Our first impression was a good one -- the waitstaff immediately descended upon us with... More

Close to the train. With the ride. Fantastic food! Plentiful! Got the octopus and had some with spinach and eggs for breakfast the next day an just as good! Generous servings! We also had the AGGOURONTOMATA - Vine ripe tomatoes, cucumber, feta cheese, onions, and oregano; the humus; TZATZIKI -Thick, creamy yogurt spread with fresh garlic and cucumber; and PAPOUTSAKI... My friend recommended this restaurant to me and I'm so glad he did. The good was wonderful - I had the chicken souvlaki with lemon potatoes. We also shared the saganaki which was delicious. The portions were fairly large- especially the salads! The staff was great and the atmosphere was cute. Would definitely recommend!

A large restaurant with a factory type production in the kitchen to serve food. Most of the entrees are pre-made and simply warmed up. A very busy restaurant with hustle and bustle. Our waiter was quite busy, but very good. Water glasses were refilled all of the time. A free dessert was provided. The highlight of the dinner were the... More

I've been coming to this restaurant for a few years now and it's a pleasure to come back every time. Never pretentious, always friendly and pleasant service. Owners/management greet you by the entrance with a smile and you feel like you're home. This place is pretty much always busy and lively, buzzing with conversations. Food is consistently good. I have... More
