Sea food are good but not everything

No menu, no credit cards, sounds weird at this popular eatery. But, it turned out serving sort of delicious seafood and price was reasonable. However, only seafood was good, pork chops were way of over cooked.

A cup of coffee here took one half hour to come and the fish must have been brought from the dock. In others except for appetizers the service can be painfully slow but it is brought by lovely friendly neighborhood type waitresses. Food excellent . Prices low to moderate.

what's the big deal. I'm brought here frequently & frankly, I can cook better. it's only 'great' for those who can't cook! & what's with the bread instead of pita??? I don't get it.

While I write this review, I am leaving my big Manhattan ego on the side. This little place in Astoria (yes, in Queens!) truly impressed me. The place serves only fresh food - no menu is available, so you have to go with your server's recommendations. The octopus dish as a starter was fabulous, perfectly crunchy in the outside and... We used to go there quite oftenly some years ago. Great seafood, nice place, great service. Yesterday it was, well, quite behind the other Greek restaurants in the area, judging by the empty tables at dinner, limited "catch" and fuzzy service. Hint: ask for the price of the dish when you order.

We went with the understanding that they don't take credit cards and they don't give you a menu unless you press the case (at which point they are likely to assume you not only a first-timer but annoying!). Also that this place is far from elegant ---- the outside (covered porch) is filled with plastic tables and chairs. No matter... More

I only come to NYC one week out of every month. With all of the choices of restaurants, Elias is one of my favorites. He has a large selection of fresh fish caught from local fisherman. Right now, soft shell crab is in season. I had the Greek salad for my appetizer with soft shell crab and dandelion for my... More

Good food including fish and wonderful lamb chops. Service-medium decor could use some updating including the tables and chairs but you can't fault the food.

The only place where you can can a good fish dish without the stress of looking for parking. Just know that there is no dessert menu.
