Super outstanding Croatian restaurant in Astoria, NY! I visited him immediately the first day when I came to NY. I am delighted access manager, waitress, great! The food is excellent, I did not expect anything less, wonderful atmosphere! I recommend!

My wife and I had lunch here last week- we were visiting our son in Astoria, NY and he was working on this April Thursday so we had the mid-day to ourselves. We had stopped here a year or so ago and had a drink on a hot day and remembered how nice it was so stopped for lunch this... More

My family and I were visiting NYC and decided that we should eat here because we are a Croatian family living in America. We really don't have a restaurant like this back home. We were so impressed with the food (ordered an appetizer, meals, and dessert), the wine selection (2 bottles and 2 glasses of the house wine), and the... More

I visited Veslo recently and had an enjoyable mean and dining experience. For starters, we shared plates of tomato & mozzarella; grilled calamari; and fried calamari. The grilled calamari was a tab bit over-cooked, but the other appetizers were quite good. For the main course, diners in our large group had the risotto, branzino, fuzi/gnocchi, sea bass, and other selections.... More

Veslo serves authentic Croatian food according to two family members from Lussin who joined us for dinner. Great bread was accompanied by pepper spiked olive oil for dipping and ground olives for topping. A mixed salad was filled with fresh greens but was slightly under dressed; better to add a bit after tasting then to be presented with a soggy... More

This modern Mediterranean gem features sophisticated interpretations of Croatian dishes. The beautiful garden seating is both romantic and cozy. The mixed seafood platter was absolutely fantastic, although it may be a little large for one person. The food was especially fresh, vegetables and seafood alike, as well as the traditional Croatian desert crepes. We were there on a Sunday evening... More

We were in Veslo last March, but unfortunately only for a drink since we ate before in another Croatian place in Astoria. We loved the Veslo as it is an excellent mix of the American lifestyle and Croatian bar atmosphere. What I really liked is that they do not hide behind the Italian cuisine like many other NYC restaurants which... More

We visited Veslo last Valentine's Day. It was actually a visit intended for another restaurant but after looking up places to eat around our neighborhood, Astoria, Veslo came up as one of the better ones. The place is very quaint. A nice size bar to accommodate enough patrons and a dual occupancy table right by it's side for those on... More
