Casual neighborhood restaurant and delicious Greek food

One of us is Greek and a cook, so we know good Greek fare. The grilled octopus is so moist and tender, and seasoned to perfection.Any grilled fish we order here is perfectly cooked.Souvlaki of any kind, perfect.Waitstaff super-attentive, and friendly. We have never had a meal here that wasn't superb. There's a reason this is the only Greek restaurant in Astoria that is always... Get here early or really late to avoid the large crowds of people waiting to be seated. Portions are HUGE. Food is always fresh and cooked( grilled) to perfection.

Arriving early, around 5.30 on a Thursday, we were quickly seated, ahead of the rush. However we did have an exceptionally long wait for our food - to the point where we were beginning to think our waiter had forgotten to place our order...and perhaps he had. It was nothing complicated or special - one fried calamaris and one grilled... More

The food was fresh and prepared well but I was expecting much better as its ratings were much higher than other Greek restaurants in the area. The portions are a good size. The service staff was overwhelmed. We had saganaki, stuffed grape leaves, and Greek salad. Broiled sole for dinner. All were good but not the great I anticipated.

Amazing Greek place, but be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes for a table. But the good news is that they usually offer some house wine while you wait for your table. Food is great and can't go wrong with the Greek salad and any of the seafood dishes.

This is the second time ice been here and it was wonderful. The spinach pies is the best I've ever had. We split a small Greek salad that was loaded with ripe tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions and of course chunks of feta cheese. We had grilled octopus appetizer that was cook to perfection. We were full after that so only ordered... More

I've been here twice and both times we had to wait for so long! when we finally got in, the service was okay but I don't understand why there are so many people here. The food tastes no better then any other restaurant. There is nothing special about this place...

I've been with my friends in this place and the food was amazing! The only negative note is that they don' t take reservations and you have to wait in line to get a table. The service is attentive and quick. They also offered us a delicious dessert with phyllo, cinnamon and custard it was the perfect ending to a... More

Delicious grilled fish and salad. Very traditional Greek food and friendly service. The restaurant is very busy so go early. It is definitely worth the trip from the city to eat here.
